"Nate- Atl & Hubter- Atl. were very professional and efficient with the tear out and installation of our new bathtub. They communicated each of the steps with us and a full explanation before leaving. They arrived on time and finished earlier than I was expecting. Great job guys!"

"Tyson came in at 8:00 am and competed the removal and installation of the new tub and liner and was gone at 4:30 pm. I would recommend Tyson for installer of the year. He was very knowledgeable and kept us informed at all times as to the installation. If I were still in a position to hire employees, I would like to have Tyson join my team. Thank you, Tyson for being a great man and making this install go so well. George Marks & Myrna Marks"

"Never used Angie's List before, and Kibuk Tile & Stone did a great job installing the shower pan, water proofing the area and installing the tile. They worked hard and completed the job within the promised time frame."

"Dave and his team did an amazing job on our kitchen. We had a complete tear out. It all cost a bit more than I had planned, but that was because of the options i ended up choosing. Quartz counter tops, stained hickory cabinets, and huge new sink basin. Could not be happier with these items!"

"This went really well, from the scheduling to the communication and implementation. I love that I get a text with a photo of the plumber when they are on the way. Patrick took the time to carefully walk us through the work and options, and the work looks great. Our utility sink is now in the right location in the basement (against the wall rather than in the middle of the room), we have a kitchen sink that looks good and is easy to turn on and off, and our bathtub has a functional drain and the correct cold/hot handles. Yay! Thanks!"

Small jobs welcome

"

John always showed up to work when he said he would and worked with us on dealing with our schedule as well. There were no hidden costs and in fact he did take off money for parts of his bid that went quicker and easier than planned and did extra things not in his bid at no additional cost like install both new mirrors, install toilet paper dispensers, bought new towel racks, light switches and plug ins and installed them also. He did one room at a time so we were never without a bathroom. He cleaned up every night so we never had no messes to deal with. The plumber he used ( A & D Plumbing and Construction) was always on time when scheduled to do his work. We also hired him to install a new outside faucet that froze and broke. The price was reasonable and the work looked good. We are going to have our kitchen upgraded in about a year and plan on using J A W Construction again. It was a very pleasant experience and we are totally satisfied with the job done.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bathroom remodel is a worthwhile home improvement project that typically adds value to your home, offering a return on investment (ROI) between 60% and 70%. Potential buyers look closely at bathrooms and kitchens, as these are often the most expensive rooms to renovate. A modern, updated bathroom is more appealing and assures buyers that the plumbing, fixtures, and flooring have a long, useful life ahead. Beyond the financial return, a remodel can also greatly increase your day-to-day satisfaction by creating a more inviting, spa-like space. Even a basic refresh with new paint and accessories can make a significant difference.

Different bathtub materials have various advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron and copper are considered the most durable materials because they are dense and resistant to damage from scratches or dents. However, cast-iron tubs are heavy, expensive, and may not be suitable for upper floors. Copper offers unique benefits but requires regular chemical treatment to prevent a patina from forming, making cast iron a less maintenance-intensive option. Porcelain is a good second choice for durability. For those on a budget, acrylic is a popular option, though it is less durable.

Bathtub and shower liners come in different colors, so make sure you select one to match the rest of the bathroom. Hire a local bath liner installer for the job since they have the expertise, tools, and materials to install it correctly. Request at least three quotes from various contractors and compare their rates and services.

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

Labor is the most expensive part of a bathroom remodel. If you’re doing a major remodel, structural changes (such as moving walls) and plumbing reconfiguration can be costly. For a standard remodel, the big-ticket items include tiles and new tub or shower fixtures.
