"Everyone we worked with at Prudhom Heat & Air was courteous and professional. This family-owned business offered a good product at a fair price that met our needs perfectly. There was one small issue a few days after the installation but we called and they were back out within 30 minutes and had the problem resolved in less than an hour. We'll definitely use them for our future HVAC needs!"

"Oklahoma Heat, Air, and Refrigeration did an excellent job correcting our kitchen vent and ductwork. They were prompt, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable from the first visit through completion. What really stood out was their honesty — they identified problems with the previous installation that we never would have known about and took the time to explain what was wrong and how to fix it properly instead of just doing a quick patch. Derek managed the project and made everything straightforward and well-organized, and the technicians (Charles, Ryan, and another team member) were courteous, efficient, and careful in our home. The work was done correctly, sealed properly, and you can tell they take pride in doing things the right way. If you want an HVAC company that actually fixes the root problem and not just the symptom, I would absolutely recommend Oklahoma Heat, Air, and Refrigeration."

"I have used a lot of different HVAC companies across the years and have yet to have an experience like I did with Pro HVAC. When Josh got here we had been out of A/C for 24hrs with many of the previous companies claiming to be overbooked, Josh took time to come out after his already full day and see if he could get us up and going unfortunately after diagnosing and giving me a very detailed overview of what had happened. We decided it was time to let my 21yr old system retire and get some good savings with a more efficient system. Josh was very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions and worked extremely hard to get everything up and running as soon as possible we lucked out and he was able to get the equipment the very next day and he finished it up with plenty of time to go to sleep in a cool comfortable home. Overall he had great prices, professional demeanor and made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. I will be calling Pro HVAC anytime I need hvac help in the future and I suggest you do too!"

"It was Christmas Eve, 2022. The temperature outside was in the teens. The clean-out on our patios needed to be drained. Our lines were clogged. Keeton came over and fixed the issue. I highly recommend this service. Johnny on the spot os the best way to describe this service call."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

If your central AC is not blowing cold air, you should try resetting the system. Many systems have a reset button. Make sure your thermostat is off, then turn off the circuit breaker that powers your AC. Hold the reset button for three to five seconds, then turn the circuit back on. Set your thermostat to cool and choose a temperature cooler than the room. Your system should turn on quickly.

Yes, you can clean your air conditioner filter as a temporary fix for cleaning up dirt, but you’ll eventually need to replace it once the dust starts to accumulate. Use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean your air filter at least once per year or more often if you have pets.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

One of the fastest ways to unfreeze an AC unit is to turn off the unit and, if it’s warm outside, use the fan-only mode to help blow warmer air through the unit to speed up the defrosting process. While it may be tempting to use a hair dryer to defrost the air conditioner, that high heat can damage the coils.

After defrosting, if you can safely solve the issue with a fix like changing the filter, go ahead and do so. Otherwise, call in a pro before turning your AC back on.

No, it isn’t necessarily bad to turn your AC on and off frequently—contrary to popular belief. Even if you stop and start your AC throughout the day, it won’t use as much energy as it would if you ran it nonstop.

If you’re concerned about your power consumption and energy costs, there are a few simple ways to use your AC more efficiently. Regularly cleaning the filters, scheduling routine maintenance, and using a programmable thermostat are all great choices.
