"I wanted an overall plan for my property. I met with Blake and mentioned a few plants i like and the vision i had for my yard. He listened and offered suggestions during the meeting. He took notes and returned the following week with drawn out plans. These plans had plants that i mentioned as well as plants i would never have thought of. I voiced my dislike of a couple of his choices and he gladly gave me options. The overall scale of doing the front and the back yard this year proved to be too much. I was able to pick and choose what i wanted done this year and have a plan to go forward in the future. The crew showed up when scheduled and if there was a delay, i was notified ASAP. The crew was kind, friendly and respectful. Part of the job included laying sod. There was a rain delay of a week by the sod grower. Blake let me know AND did not ask for partial payment. I actually offered and he said no. The Job was not finished so he did not expect payment. I was so impressed by that."

Customers say: Quick response

"Could not do all the work that was supposed to be done because they did not have right equipment and could not reach all branches. Cut branches over house, fell in roof with loud bang, one branch fell and scraped large window in dining room, also several large branches fell on slate patio and broke the tiles.Owner did lower price but we were not happy that all work was not done."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

For minor unevenness, you don't necessarily need to remove grass before leveling. You can apply a topdressing mixture to fill in low areas and even out the surface. However, for more significant unevenness or deep depressions, it might be necessary to temporarily remove the grass to ensure proper leveling and soil compaction. After filling and leveling, you can replace the grass or consider reseeding the area.

The most cost-effective approach to land clearing is DIY-ing what you can, such as removing brush, small saplings, and other more manageable tasks. Then, contact a tree cutting pro to finish the job for the larger vegetation and trees on your property. Get multiple quotes, look for off-season discounts, and scope out all your options to keep things as budget-friendly as possible.

There are several ways to dispose of excess sod, including building a compost pile, taking it to a green waste disposal facility, donating the sod, or reusing it in another part of your yard. It’s a good idea to check with your local municipality to see how to get rid of yard waste, as some areas have local regulations on what can go in the green waste bin. For example, your recycling services may reject too much soil added to green waste.

Yes, it's perfectly safe and environmentally sound to mulch leaves with a lawn mower, provided that the layer of leaves isn't too thick and the leaves are dry and crispy. Too many wet leaves get sticky and will clog the mower. Thick layers of leaves can suffocate the lawn after the leaves have been mulched, so the layer should be no more than six inches thick.

There are several ways to decompose yard waste quickly. The first step is to move all debris into a compost bin or pile. From there, microorganisms, bacteria, and insects will break down the yard waste into compost. To speed things up, shred the waste into smaller pieces, add live worms to the pile, or introduce nitrogen-rich compost accelerators like grass clippings, coffee grounds, and manure. Turn the compost over every few days. This process, called aerating, allows oxygen to get in and accelerate decomposition.
