"About a week previously, we discovered that water had leaked into a cabinet that is built into the wall of our finished basement.  I had tried to fix the issue myself by replacing the seal on a toilet on the second floor of the house.  Unfortunately, I found that this did not remove the source of the water.
I called McLean Plumbing based upon the reviews that I'd read on Angie's List.  The owner indicated that their schedule was tight, but if they had a chance, he would call me to let know.  As it turns out, they had a customer that delayed an appointment, which left an opening for us.
When they arrived, I showed the area where the water was leaking.  I described the work that I had performed in the bathroom upstairs, at which time they had asked if we had another bathroom, which we do.
Within seconds of showing the other bathroom, the plumber found the true source of the issue.  The toilet in the other bathroom proceeded to drain water into the floor area.
From that point on, they were professional, courteous, and friendly.  I asked about a few other items, including a flushing issue from another toilet in the house, and they took care of it right away.  I asked about the potential for remodeling the problem bathroom, and they made some very helpful suggestions.
There is no longer water leaking into our basement cabinet.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend McLean Plumbing to anyone who is in need of plumbing services.

"We tried various other ways to mitigate the water coming into our basement - inside French drain, outside French drain, regarding the backyard - but nothing fully worked. EveryDry did a full remediation of our basement and FINALLY completely resolved our water issues. It's been a year and we haven't had a drop enter."

"We had an emergency leake in our foundation into the basement. They were recommended to us by another contractor and they were able to make it out within hours where everyone else needed three days to a week. The work they did was spectacular and saved our basement from flooding and staying up another long night. They are absolutely amazing and will most definitely be continuing to use them!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

DIY plunging or drain cleaning chemicals may help minor clogs, but professional hydro jetting ensures long-term solutions.
