Greg called this morning to see if I still needed the work done and I was so glad he called because I turned away the first company that showed up after telling me their pricing was more than I was quoted. Greg got in touch with Jeremy to see if he could come out today to the work. Greg called me back within 10 minutes to let me know Jeremy was on his way. Jeremy got here, took a look at everything and got right to work. He was done with everything in no time and the price was exactly what I was quoted from Greg. Jeremy was professional and the work looks great! Greg was awesome to speak with on the phone and explained everything and the things that may make the cost go up. This company is GREAT! i would hire them again in a heartbeat! Thank you fordoing such a great job!

He was there the next day after requesting service and finished it up quickly. Prices are very reasonable compared to other plumbing companies I have used in the past. I already had purchased the pumps and backup battery, so the price I'm showing is only for the labor to remove old pump, install new one, and the miscellaneous parts he provided.

The guys were here on time and clearly knew what they were doing. They were friendly, knowledgeable and even turned the pilot light back on in my fireplace (after moving gas line), which was greatly appreciated! I trust them to solve any plumbing issue that may come in the future and would hire them again in an instant! The cost was also very reasonable for all the work they did.
Description of Work
Greg and his crew moved a gas line so I could have other work done by a HVAC tech. They also installed a Water softener. I'm so glad we put it in, the water in our area is very hard and was leaving films on everything. Greg and crew explained everything and were very fast and did an awesome job! Would not hesitate to call them back for other issues.

Greg is a very polite and knowledgable man, and we discussed the project. He came up with innovative ideas to work around difficulties of installing new plumbing in an attic in a ~100 year old home. His ideas made the job easier and saved us money too. He and his crew finished a week ahead of schedule as well!! He had to route new supply lines to the bathroom. And run a new drain all the way to the basement. They installed a glass block window and tile, and the vent/light electrical. They also completed new walls and drywall to finish the end of the room. The shower is beautiful!!

After having another plumber over (who was also highly rated on Angies List), he simply turned on all my hot water lines and told me "All Fixed". I asked him if we needed to flush the hot water heater and he said no. 5 minutes after the first plumber left, my hot water lines had tons of the resin in it again from the hot water heater and was clogging up all my sinks again. I called the first plumber back and he got irritated with me (I felt he did not believe me) and said there was nothing I could do and I needed to buy a new hot water heater. I was not happy with this answer I called McClean Plumbing finally. They said they couldn't make it out, and I described all that had happened and all the steps I took over the phone. Even though he couldn't come out to my house, this plumber walked me thorough multiple steps and descriptions over multiple calls in enough details that I bought and installed all I needed to fix the issue and save my hot water heater! Very helpful, smart, and considerate guy! Will definitely use them for my future pluming needs.

I had an issue where my sump pump failed and my basement was flooding. I called Greg and explained my problem and he had one of his guys out to my house in about an hours time (which I thought was excellent especially after the huge storm we had and I'm sure there were many others with my same problem) Randy was the plumber who fixed my issue, walked me through what he did to my sump pump so I would be able to try and fix the problem myself if it happened again. They also brought a sump pump in case mine needed replaced. Even though they would have been better off the replace mine from a business standpoint, Randy explained to me why that was not necessary and was able to answer all the questions I had with an exact response. I have had issues with my pump before and just put in a bigger 3/4 HP sump pump last year. Randy even took the time to walk me through what I needed to do to re-route the exit of my pump to take the water away from my house. I did this and it has completely resolved my issue. (My sump pump was re-circulating the water it pumped out the side of my house) Once I get around to finishing my basement, I plan to use these guys to install a battery back up sump pump for the added insurance and peace of mind. I found my new plumber with these guys!

Very well, trusted company to work with to address plumbing needs. Price was higher, but well worth getting the problems addressed to our satisfaction.
Description of Work
Greg and his crew replaced all internals on toilets and associated plumbing; Greg ordered all materials (specific to our brands of toilets) and completed the job as quoted. Though price was a little higher than I anticipated, the quality of the work performed addressed an issue that had been plaguing us for years and ignored by other plumbers.

He was friendly and helpful. He looked and could not find any leak and we discussed how to further diagnose the problem and if there continued to be a problem what the possible resolutions were. I enjoyed the visit...Greg seemed genuinely concerned and interested. I appreciated his time, advice and enjoyed the conversation. When I do determine what to do, I will certainly call McLean Plumbing.

I had a coupon for 4 hrs wk originally. I called to sched appt and got an email back next day saying he would contact me to schedule a time. Two weeks went by with no contact. I had to recontact to get a response, which was 'sorry I was out of town and forgot". I told him (owner/manager) to get with my family member who lives at property since I am in another state. They connected by phone. His crew showed up and had to go get more parts, which I'm not sure if he counted travel time in my prepaid coupon but the total job he said would take two visits so the actual price was more than the coupon. Again he called me days later to update me. He stated he does not use email. I said I would mail him a paper check. The process took about a month to complete for a simple leak. His communication was very slow. Work turned out fine. and the crew was friendly, but communication was bad.

Service Provider Response

Hello [removed member name] I want to first thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I appreciate the opportunity to do the work. I do apologize for the delays and communication concerns. We did experience a little trouble scheduling with your sister and also a little trouble getting in to house with your mom and we understand that things happen. The leak was more involved than your family had expected which is why we had to go get parts and open the wall behind the kitchen sink to fix the rotted galvanized drain in the wall. We do charge for travel time to get supplies. Unfortunately we don't usually know exactly what is needed on a job until we see it and its not always possible to get everything done in a 2 hour labor window which is what you had purchased, that is why I informed you before we did anything that it would be over the 2 hours. Again I apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have been for you. I really strive hard to provide good quality work at a fair price and with complete honesty and sometimes I do mistakes. Thank you again

The water heater was an emergency replacement. Very quick response; were there on a Saturday morning with a new water heater. We then had them install two new toilets. Again no problems; very responsive. Hired them to remodel both baths in house. The first was a complete re-do of the half bath, adding a shower. This entailed reconfiguring the laundry room. They had to remove the walls between the bathroom and the laundry room, dig up the slab to move the drain line, and replumb the washer and install the shower and new sink drains. This took longer than expected, mostly because it was a bigger undertaking than anticipated. We asked them to see if they could solve our problem with low water pressure. When they installed the shower plumbing, they found the water supply was pinched- solving twenty years of bad water pressure! This project took longer than anticipated, but the results were worth it. We had the main bath remodeled also, removing all the old tile and tub and installing a walk in shower, new fixtures and cabinets. We had all the inspections done, both plumbing and electrical, and there were no problems. They were easy to work with and there were no surprises. They told us each day what they were going to accomplish and gave us a heads up when they were going to turn off the water. They were pleasant and friendly and we would hire them again!
Description of Work
First called for hot water heater installation. Had new toilets installed in two baths. Next contracted to remodeled half bath to a full, reconfiguring laundry room to accommodate a shower. Moved the washer water supply and drain to tie into existing waste line. Remodel included removing walls, adding walls, replacing vanity, installing all fixtures, and tiling floor, and all electrical work. Also remodeled existing full bath, removing tub to install walk in shower, tiling, floor, new cabinets, and electrical.

Hey [Member Name Removed] I want to say that it was a pleasure working with you and your family. We really enjoyed everything. I thought we were supposed to get an invite for Thanksgiving! LOL.. I really appreciate the opportunity you gave us and to trust us to come in to your home for a long period of time for both of those bathrooms. And thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The guys also enjoyed getting to know you all. Please let us know if we can be of assistance in the future. Thank you.

horrible in general. Granted yes I did tell them that the job did not need to be done immediately and by the end of the summer, but it literally took them till the end of summer...I called them the beginning of summer and it took 3 months for them to finally take care of it. They kind of kept in touch with me about timing but not very well. Felt like they kept making excuses for putting off the job. Once they finally got here they did remove a tree and for us and take some of the dirt. Afterward we had a big pile of dirt in our yard and broken clay in the dirt. I feel like they could have done a lot better than they did.

Hey [member name removed] thank you for taking time to leave this review and thank you for the opportunity to do work for you. I do apologize for the time delay. We did have a super busy summer and were working out of town a lot and when I finally did try to start scheduling then I had the dump truck issues and we were dealing with weather issues. We did however spend hours going through the dirt trying to remove the clay and trash so I apologize if we missed something, I would have gladly picked it up for you. We also spent hours on the machine trying to make the yard look as nice as possible considering what was done and tried to keep you from having to regrade the yard in spring. I did not put the dirt removal in the price trying to keep it manageable for you but it was in the contract and I offered to remove it for a little extra but you had told me you were not interested. We really did try to make your yard look nice and when we left I thought it looked good I even took pictures of it. The city of Dayton plumbing inspector also thought it was a nice looking job. Again I apologize that you feel it was a bad experience please let me know if there is anything we can do in future. Thank you
