"The septic tank was pumped satisfactorily. The problem we had was that our gate and latching mechanism were damage by his employee doing the work. We were told that the gate was damaged. We called Mr Andrews after we discovered that gate was damaged. Mr Andrews told me that his employees were independent contractors and were responsible for any damages that occur. Mr Andrews asked me to send him pictures and a description of the damage. He said he would have his independent contractor contact me to resolve the issue. To date we have not heard from his independent contractor or Mr Andrews to resolve the issue The company does a good pumping your septic tank but doesn't take care of any damages that they cause. "Whoever Nick sends to work at our house has always figured out what needed doing (and not more) and been able to get it done quickly, surely and cleanly. In this case we had just at our water main changed which cause sediment to clog fixtures and kill water pressure. Chris gave us the good news that a replacement fixture and part was all that stood between us and square one----and he fit us in the next day so that we could go out and buy the kitchen faucet we needed."

"Excellent from beginning to end.  Got a referral from a neighbor who had similar work done recently.  Had a water line (Blue Max) from our house to our barn break.  Roger Henry came out and gave me an estimate to replace that line and to replace the supply line to the house as well as a minor issue with the septic tank.   I wanted to replace the supply line to the house as well as it was also Blue Max and I knew it was only a matter of time (and if it didn't break it would be an issue when selling the house).  Roger is very experienced with this and has a drill which can drill underground for hundreds of feet, thus not disturbing the landscape.  He gave me an estimate which was higher than I got from others who would dig a trench along the entire line, but in addition to not disturbing the landscape, Roger's method will likely increase the lifetime of the line as there are no ups and downs as there would be in a trench.  Essentially they dug two holes (one for each section of line and drilled from there to either end.  Really neat.  Over 300 feet of line in all and used copper at both ends with black poly in between.   The water works great and we have more water pressure at the barn than before.  The workers were very professional and kept the interior part where they needed to access our basement clean as well.  As I said, a little more money than some others, but I have no regrets with going with Henry Excavating and their drilling method for replacement of our underground water lines.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

To keep your septic tank healthy, be careful of what you flush and be conservative with water usage, as even flushing too much water down the drain can throw off the septic system’s delicate balance. Never flush anything but human waste and toilet paper down your toilet, and be sure to have the tank inspected and pumped every two to five years, depending on the size of your household and your water usage.

Most well pump pressure switches have a factory setting of 30 to 50 PSI. There’s some flexibility with this if you’d like a lower or higher water pressure, but remember that it should sit 2 to 3 PSI above your well tank’s general pressure setting.

The inside of your pressure switch cover will usually indicate minimum and maximum settings—going below and above the numbers might damage your well pump.

Signs that your well is dry include a decrease in water pressure, strange odors coming from faucets, cloudy, bubbly, or discolored water, and water that’s warmer than normal. Signs that your well pump is bad are similar, but you may also notice higher-than-average electric bills, strange clicking sounds, and faucets that spit or sputter.

For the most part, choosing between 30/50 psi and 40/60 psi is based on your water-pressure preference. However, it can also depend a little bit on your house—if you have older plumbing, a lower water pressure can be easier on the pipes (and a bit more gentle on your well pump).

The lower 30/50 pressure is usually enough for a single-story home, but you may want 40/60 if you have multiple stories, as the extra pressure helps water flow smoothly up to the second floor.

Depending on local conditions, a deep well may be a better choice than a shallow well. Deeper well depth accesses groundwater that has been naturally filtered through many layers of soil and rock. This reduces surface contaminants and may offer cleaner water, but deep wells cost more money to build and maintain. The water may be harder and have higher radioactivity, too.
