"They told us they would have them start on the roof on the bathroom first then do garage. But instead they did garage first by the time they did the bathroom roof it was dark out. They try to repair it in the dark. They didn't get done until 9:30pm. The company told us it would be done in about half the day but it took all day because only one guy was doing the roofing. They didn't clean up their mess until I called and blame there was nails and trash everywhere. When they came to get the rest of the money. I handed them what trash they didn't get. They did give us a little money back. I told them that the bathroom roof shingles didn't look right. They said it would be alright and if the shingles didn't stay on they would fix it. So we had high wind that night so the shingles came off. I called and they said they would send the workers they hired to come back and fix them. On Saturday the company text me and said the workers would be out around noon. So when I got off from work I went out there and they hadn't come yet. So about 2:10pm I texted the company he was not very nice to me in his response. The workers didn't come until about 3:30pm they informed me that they wasn't going to come because they were about 2 hours away from us. So they looked at the roof and instead of walking around to where they had to go they drive they van in our grass and almost hit our septic tank. I told them you almost hit my septic tank. I said you should have not drive out there. I told them to fix it and leave. I had to show them had to get out without hitting my septic tank. By the end of all that I wasn't happy. They didn't even ask if they could drive out there. Don't hire a company that subs there work out to someone that can't do the work and do care about your property."

"I hired Garage Rescue to help clean out my mom’s home and garage when getting ready to sell it. This project took a little longer than expected, but the team worked very hard each day they came, handled all items with care, were professional, and helped get me to the finish line. Thank you, Garage Rescue! Highly recommend!"

"Carlos did a great job removing a DYI popcorn ceiling in a small bathroom that a previous owner left. He also painted the ceiling after the removal and patched a large hole in the garage left by a broken garage spring."

Garages questions, answered by experts

Most garage door rails are fitted for their garage door, in particular. Some manufacturers make adjustable rails, but they’re not universal.

You can expect your seal to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. Several factors affect this—material, frequency of use, and the weather. For example, seals made from high-quality rubber are built to withstand the elements and can go the distance with a little TLC. If your door sees a lot of action or faces extreme heat or cold, the seal could wear out more quickly. Regular maintenance—like cleaning and lubrication—can make your seal last longer. And while it’s rare, a professionally installed seal on a smooth floor can potentially last up to 10 years.

If you have a garage heater that is 1,500 watts or more, it will need its own breaker. As a good rule of thumb, no appliance should exceed 1,500 watts per outlet for best outcomes. Consult a local garage heating service to determine the power needs for your outdoor or indoor space.

Garage door sensors work by using infrared beams to detect objects in the door’s path. One sensor sends a beam while the other receives it. When the beam is broken—say, by your car or anything else—the sensors signal the door to stop or reverse. It’s all about safety and making sure nothing gets trapped under the door. If they’re misaligned, the beam doesn’t connect, and the garage door might stay open or close regardless of obstructions.

In some cases, a detached garage can be considered extra living space, but you will need to gain permission and comply with your local building code. Depending on where you live, you may need permits for a variety of installations, including electrical work, plumbing, and structural work. Many homeowners make the mistake of converting a garage into a living space without acquiring permits, which can result in hefty fines and even the removal of your hard work. Furthermore, a detached garage doesn’t add to the livable square footage of your home when it’s time to sell.
