"They found a replacement part very quickly. The main faucet in the bathroom is leaking so they fix it. They fix another valve wich is leaking a bit. The price is reasonable. The handyman is very competent. Over all I'm very satisfied."

Customers say: Quality work

"I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Phils drain company. From the moment I called, they were professional, courteous, and responsive. They arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and explained everything clearly before beginning the work. The quality of their workmanship was outstanding, and they made sure everything was completed correctly the first time. They were respectful of my home, cleaned up after the job, and left everything in excellent condition. It's r refreshing to find a company that takes such pride in their work and genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. If you're looking for honest, reliable, and highly skilled plumbers, I highly recommend this company. I had an emergency issue on a Saturday afternoon and one call to Phil and his team was out here without hesitation. I will definitely use them again for any future plumbing needs. Thanks, Phil, for a job exceptionally well done!"

Small jobs welcome

"John arrived at 2:05 Sunday afternoon. John was very professional, and explained what needed fixed and what it would cost. A new toilet and supply alone were needed. He noted what we needed and when out to get it in a half hour. S total of and a half hours, John has everything installed and tested. I have had many different plumbers in my life, but I cannot remember anyone who provided such a great service experience with a plumbing problem. Also, everything was left in a very clean manner."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Hiring an experienced plumber is key to a successful plumbing project and protecting your home from potential damages. Improper plumbing maintenance and repairs can lead to problems with sewage, flooding, your home’s foundation, and more. The work of a licensed plumber helps guarantee not only experience and expertise but also quality work, insurance, and adherence to local rules and regulations. Note that working with unlicensed plumbers doesn't automatically negate experience—as six states don’t require plumbers to have licenses— but it’s a safeguard to consider.

If you notice your main water shut-off valve is leaking, try tightening the valve slightly to see if it stops the leak. If the leak persists or worsens, it’s best to contact a licensed plumber to assess and repair the valve. Using too much force or attempting a DIY repair can further damage the valve.

The most likely reason is rust. You can try using lubricant to loosen the metal components, but you’ll most likely need to call in a plumber to professionally sand down the rust without damaging the rest of your bathtub. If the rust is extensive, it might be a sign that you need to replace the plumbing.

If your toilet won’t stop running, you might have a bad fill valve. This may be the case if the valve has calcium or debris buildup, is cracked, or shows visible signs of wear and tear. A bad fill valve may also be the culprit if you’ve already checked the flapper and chain and adjusted the fill height to no avail.

Older faucet fixtures may have some corrosion, leaving them stuck. Try a few techniques to loosen the fixtures.

  • Wrap the fixture with a towel and tap the base with a hammer.

  • Use a putty knife to gently remove any caulk that may be holding the handle or fixture in place.

  • Apply a few drops of penetrating oil around the base of the fixture or around the nuts.

  • Purchase a faucet pulling tool to pop the fixture loose.
