"When having our gutters cleaned, we realized that the underground drain from the house to the street was blocked. We contacted All County to try to have the drain snaked, but when he arrived, it was determined that the type of pipe used was not going to allow for snaking. We discussed options and decided to get on their schedule to have a new drainage line installed. All County came back about 2 weeks later and dug a trench from the street to the garage behind the house. They layed 110 feet of 4 inch, higher strength PVC drain lines and connected them to each of 3 downspouts. They then refilled the trench and verified the drainage. This was the 3rd occassion on which we've had All County to our home for plumbing issues; we definitely plan to keep calling them when needed."

"Highlander Waterproofing of WNY was hired to install two sump pumps in my crawl space. Giulio was very responsive and provided the most reasonable solution to my water problems. He didn't recommend an entire "system" like others did. House is in Lakeville next to Conesus Lake and the water run-off and water table is high especially at this time of year. The space they worked in was extremely tight but the men did an outstanding job navigating the limited space. Two sump pumps were needed to capture pooling water in the uneven grade. The men also dug a trench 70'-80' to lay drain tiles. Lastly they installed a high-grade vapor barrier on the dirt floor to minimize moisture. They were able to accomplish all of this in a day. They cleaned up very nicely, were extremely polite and provided an excellent experience. I am confident the water issue has been remedied in the crawl space. I intend to hire them again in the Summer to repair and waterproof the outside foundation walls. Excellent workmanship."

"As I requested they provided the cost for drain snaking upfront. A simple procedure that most others would not quote. (They wanted to do a separate "diagnostic" visit and additional fee. The work was fine. The technician very competent and concientious about keeping things clean. The only rub, they wanted $179 to put the toilet back in (way out of line). I think they could have told me. Nevertheless, I drove to home depot for a wax ring and had it done in 10 minutes. Overall, a 4 oout of 5. If they charged a more reasonable rate for reseating the toilet i would have had them do it, and would have rated a 5."

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.
There are a few possible sump pump drainage locations, including a neighborhood storm drain, into a creek or pond, or underground. Don’t let your sump pump water go into your sewer or septic system. Ideally, your drainage spot should be on a downhill slope that’s at least 10 to 20 feet away from your home’s foundation. Before choosing a location, check your local codes and regulations.
