"They did a quick and good job of replacing our water heater. Called again due to standing water in our yard after every rain. They came out and installed a drain and tied my downspouts into it. They also put the excess dirt against the house to improve the grading. I can say after the fall rains and the repeated freezing/thawing in winter that the drain has kept everything dry and we have had no more water issues in the basement. I would recommend these guys."
"They did a great job installing French drains and sump pump in our basement. Great communication! They changed work plan to cater to our needs and got it done in one day, staying until it was finished. Very reasonably priced!! Highly recommend!!"
"I had a pretty bad flood in my basement after the heavy storms that came through back in June. I realized that my sump pump was the reason so I needed to replace it.
I wanted something with more horsepower and after doing some research, I decided an ejector pump would work best for my home. Tyler was very friendly and understanding of my situation. He told me about some options, gave me the literature and a fair price for what I wanted.
He and his team were very professional and attentive and definitely knowledgeable about the equipment and installation process. I was a little apprehensive about going with a company that’s just starting out, but Tyler gave me a good feeling about their company and products. I’m very happy with the installation and the service I received. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again (although I hope I never have to) for any future needs. We have multiple rental properties, so I would call him first if I ever need service at any of them. A+++"
"Highlander Waterproofing of WNY was hired to install two sump pumps in my crawl space. Giulio was very responsive and provided the most reasonable solution to my water problems. He didn't recommend an entire "system" like others did. House is in Lakeville next to Conesus Lake and the water run-off and water table is high especially at this time of year. The space they worked in was extremely tight but the men did an outstanding job navigating the limited space. Two sump pumps were needed to capture pooling water in the uneven grade. The men also dug a trench 70'-80' to lay drain tiles. Lastly they installed a high-grade vapor barrier on the dirt floor to minimize moisture. They were able to accomplish all of this in a day. They cleaned up very nicely, were extremely polite and provided an excellent experience. I am confident the water issue has been remedied in the crawl space. I intend to hire them again in the Summer to repair and waterproof the outside foundation walls. Excellent workmanship."
"Wyatt did an awesome job. This was a major job. I had a water pipe break just under the house foundation. They initially believed it could be reached from the outside, but determined the break was just under the foundation. Because of this, they needed to break up the concrete floor in the basement at the outside wall. They carefully removed the floor molding and the wood boards before jackhammering a 2 foot by 1 foot hole at the edge of the floor at the outside wall. They were very neat and tidy. The broken pipe was fixed in less than a day. They then cleaned out many of the faucets and came back the next day to adust the water pressure and be sure all faucets were working properly. They kept us informed at all steps of the process and the cost was less than their estimate. We highly recommend Wyatt for your plumbing needs."
"This is the second time I have called USA Waterproofing & Foundation Svcs and again I was extremely pleased with their service. When I called they had someone at my house within the hour and efficiently fixed the problem."
"Had Betts Structural Engineering come and look at the foundation of a house we were in contract on. Josh came out and was professional and informative. He informed us the foundation was failing and explained what needed to be done. He throughly explained everything and told us how we could do it ourselves for much cheaper than a contractor could do it. In the end he saved us from a long and expensive process if we proceeded with the house."
"They did a great job on the foundation repair adding 8 push piers and successfully moving the foundation back into place. However, in their rush they put a hole in the back of my house with the backhoe and it took them almost 6 months to repair and repaint the damage. I still recommend them since they were the only ones with the correct foundation fix."
"He did a good job on cleaning out drain. But after a week the new drain pipe started to leak when draining the sink.I also think they were way to expensive."
"My dad's living room is a sunken living room. It was very difficult to get his wheelchair up and down this one step. Adam of Neatnics came to the house, examined and measured the area for a wheelchair ramp. He brought a sample fold-up ramp (about 6 or 7 feet long). I found I still had difficulty pushing the wheelchair on and off the ramp. Adam came up with an ingenious solution. He installed a stiff vinyl-type wedge at the top of the ramp and a large piece of lexcon at the foot of the ramp. This allowed an effective and easy way to get the wheelchair up and down the one step. We are very pleased with his solution. Thanks, Adam!
Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts
You can DIY basement waterproofing in some ways to help save on the overall costs. If your basement isn’t experiencing a lot of water but is noticeably humid, you can try running a dehumidifier that will pull the excess water out of the air. If you notice water leaking due to outdoor drainage issues, you can add downspout extensions to keep rainwater away from your home.
However, if the problem is more severe and requires a more extensive solution, it’s best to call a basement waterproofing professional to assess the treatment you need and install waterproofing safeguards properly. Since keeping water out of your basement is important, ensuring this job is done correctly the first time is best.
A sump pump will drain a flooded basement if it has a horsepower strong enough to remove the water faster than it is entering the room. If you have the wrong type or size of sump pump installed–or if your sump pump has failed–you may need to take additional steps to stop the flow of water or remove it manually.
Standing water under your house can threaten its structural integrity. If water pools in your crawl space, it can damage the foundation and the structure above ground, causing wood rot, mold, and other problems. If you have a concrete foundation, standing water under your house can also make your foundation slabs crack.
A sump pump can be added to an existing basement. To do this, you will need to use a jackhammer or sledgehammer to break up the concrete and dig a pit. You will also need to create a hole in your basement wall to run the discharge pipe through.
Methods include interior sealants, exterior excavation and waterproofing membranes, sump pump installation, and vapor barriers for encapsulation. Techniques vary based on the structure and severity of moisture issues.
