"Thomas and his crew replaced my old electric service with a new 200 amp service. They were on time and completed the work in the time frame he gave me. They did an outstanding job and were very competitive with their price. The crew was very friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend them for your electrical needs."

I found a gentleman by the name of Bill Root...if l could..I would give him a hundred stars...he was very friendly..did a great job...even the city inspector said he did a great job...I definitely will be using him in the future and I will be telling friends and neighbors what a good job he did and was very reasonable.. he charged one quarter of what other companies wanted for the same service...thanks again Mr.Root !!! 👍👍👍👍👍"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Single switch installs are quick DIY projects, but you should consider enlisting the help of a pro for more complicated replacements—like a smart switch or if you live in an older home with outdated wiring. Professional electricians are trained in the latest code regulations. They are also insured, licensed, and bonded.

Grounded electrical outlets are usually three-pronged. You can also look for a grounding clip in your outlet boxes or use a circuit tester. If you’re unsure, consult a suitably qualified electrician regarding your home's electrical safety.

An electrician can handle wiring issues with the garage door opener, like faulty connections, circuit problems, or sensor malfunctions, but they’re not the right person to hire for mechanical repairs. Garage door specialists handle things like broken springs, tracks, and panels, while electricians step in if there’s an issue with power supply, motor function, or safety sensors that aren’t responding correctly.

Aluminum wiring can pose a fire risk as it can overheat, expand, and contract, leading to failing splices and loose connections. If your home has aluminum wiring, it requires careful maintenance and potential safety upgrades. The first step is to hire a licensed electrician to conduct a thorough inspection.

A complete replacement with copper wire is the safest option but can be very expensive and is not always necessary. Other safety measures and upgrades include:

  • Copper Pigtailing: A more budget-friendly option where a short section of copper wire is added to each end of the aluminum wire. This is only appropriate for certain homes.

  • Aluminum-Compatible Outlets: Installing outlets specifically designed for use with aluminum wiring.

  • Anti-Oxidant Paste: Applying this paste to connections to prevent oxidation.

Consulting with a qualified electrician is essential to assess the condition of your wiring and determine the most appropriate updates to meet current safety standards.

DIY is not recommended for commercial settings due to safety regulations. Hire licensed professionals for compliance.
