"Been waiting for a plumber for a week, kept getting appt moved. Finally checked Angi and found Georgeâ s Drains. They called me within 5 minutes of entering my info for a quote. Told me they were on a job but would come after. When Juan & Cameron arrived, they were very professional and went right to work. Had our clogged drain issue resolved in an hour. They cleaned up after themselves and left us with a working drain! Canâ t say enough positive things about these guys! They are young men with a very strong work ethic and enjoy what they do. We would recommend them to everyone and anyone needing a drain unclogged! Great job Juan & Cameron!"

"Eric called before our scheduled time to say he was finishing another project and he would arrive in 30 minutes. He was on time, looked at the clogged drain and provided options. He was able to clear the drain with a snake and finished the job in about an hour, which avoided the more expensive option to dig up and replace the drain pipe. He did a great job! I would DrainCo LLC to anyone."

"Heath was very quick to respond to my inquiry. He came out the next day and gave a very competitive quote. He said he could be here in 7-10 days (other guys were 4+ weeks) to fix my clogged drain line. He actually arrived in 2 days and he and his crew we done in about 3 hours and did an excellent job. They even did a good job of cleaning up all the mess in the yard."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

Your clothes—and your washing machine—will send you a few signals if you’re overdue for cleaning your washing machine filter. If you notice a buildup of detergent residue on your clothes, your clothes don’t dry quickly or at all, or you’re noticing lint in the machine, it’s time to clean the filter.

Septic tanks can clog if they aren’t pumped every few years since solid waste accumulates inside of them. Your tank might also clog if you have a habit of flushing anything other than human waste or toilet paper. Items like diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, cat litter, and personal hygiene products should never go down your pipes.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.
