"Heavens Tree Service did an incredible job at our house. We had trees over hanging structures and need them removed but we're apprehensive. Heavens Tree Service listened to our concerns and explained the step by step process they would use to remove the trees. This really helped put our minds at ease. They were very knowledgeable and professional. Service was timely and prompt. Their rates are very fair and reasonable. I will definately be using them again. I highly recommend Heavens Tree Service."

"Great group of guys. Trees were near utility lines, so it was not an easy job. Jeremy the tree climber did an excellent job navigating it all and did an exceptional job of trimming two fully grown maple trees. Do not hesitate to hire Adam and Sons Tree Service."

"Abraham contacted me right away letting me know he wanted the job, showed up later that afternoon to assess the work, and had my tree cut down within a matter of days. He was on time, professional, cleaned up all the debris, and had very reasonable rates. I highly recommend Pickering Tree service and would hire again if I needed more tree work."

"Aborite Tree Service did a fantastic job! I highly recommend their services. They removed three 70’ foot trees in a very tight space in my backyard. The team ground the stumps down and left the area clean and neat! Thank you, Sean and your team, for doing such a great job. Also very reasonable rates. - Joy Edwards"

"Our lawn is very green and healthy - there is a definite line between our lawn and our neighbor who does not fertilize. When NexGreen started a few years ago, we had a lot of weeds in our yard. Now we have none most of the time, and if they do pop up, they don't last long. Our trees and shrubs, which we pay for separately, are also doing well. The cost of service shown below is the cost for both lawn ($558 for the year - 7 treatments plus fall aeration) and tree/shrubs ($266 for 5 treatments)."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It depends on the problem, the affected part of the tree, the risk of the pathogen spreading, and the overall health of your tree. Many diseases, fungal infections, and insect infestations can be successfully treated, especially if the issue is only in a few branches. However, if a disease is too widespread, too severe, too easily spread, or in the roots, the tree will likely need to be removed.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.

If you’re wondering whether you can plant a tree where the stump was removed, know that the soil conditions won’t be ideal, so you should avoid it. The soil beneath the previous tree will likely be depleted of nutrients, plus there may be roots left behind that will seriously hinder the growth of a new tree. Also, if you use salt or other chemical solutions to kill the stump, these can linger in the soil for months or even years and prevent healthy growth. It’s best to choose a different spot that’s at least three feet away for a new tree, or wait at least a year and thoroughly amend the soil before you plant.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.
