"R&R Masonry is the best, from the office manager Robyn, to the entire crew. An estimate was given promptly after my initial call for a quote (very reasonably priced). The job was scheduled and started within days. I was promptly notified when the cement company was delayed, at no fault to Randy and his crew. Randy and his crew were professional, informative and in constant communication throughout the entire process. A concrete slab for a shed and a patio were expertly crafted with a personal touch. The crew even moved a shed and gazebo, after they cleaned up! My neighbors have even commented on how much they like their work! A HUGE bonusâ ¦ the entire crew is dog friendly! They were welcoming of my dog roaming around while they were working, and even gave him belly rubs! I plan to use R&R Masonry for all of my future home renovations!"

"I could not be more grateful to Jason and his men. My basement wall blew out a hole in the foundation. Jason was 1st to show and gave a written estimate, very professional. Once the weather broke, job was complete in 3 days; area was left clear and clean. NICE!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I contracted with Lawn Legends to rebuild my front porch that has been slowly sinking over its 13 year life. They did a great job of dismantling the stone porch, pouring additional concrete footers, and then reassembling the porch. The job was done in a very timely manner with a lot of focus on the details. I could tell that Michael, Dan and their crew took much pride in their work and wanted to make sure that I was fully satisfied. I would highly recommend Lawn Legends."

"The service aspect of this business was exceptional, beyond even the quality of work. When the owner was going to be late, he texted and advised me he was going to be late. It turned out he was only one hour late, but still took the time to contact me. The work was excellent. Instead of trying to sell me new bricks, he knocked the mortar off the old bricks, and used them. The bricks were of an odd size, and the other contractors wanted more than $250.00 just for the bricks! The price was more than reasonable."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

In Schenectady, it’s wise to inspect your masonry each spring and fall. Watch for cracked mortar, loose or shifting bricks, water stains, white efflorescence, bulging walls, or plant growth in joints. These signs indicate it’s time to consider masonry restoration or brick repair. Addressing these issues early can help prevent further damage and more extensive repairs to your home’s structure.

Helpful?

For a successful masonry project in Schenectady, schedule work between late spring and early fall to avoid weather delays. Gather multiple quotes from local contractors experienced in brick repair or stonework, and confirm if your property is in a historic district, as extra approvals may be needed. Protect materials from moisture, notify utilities before digging, communicate with neighbors, and keep a contingency fund for unexpected issues.

Helpful?

Schenectady homeowners can choose from several types of masonry contractors, including specialists in historic masonry restoration, chimney repair experts, foundation repair contractors familiar with local soil conditions, and skilled artisans for decorative stonework. Some general contractors also coordinate masonry projects. Look for professionals with experience in Schenectady’s climate and architectural styles to ensure quality results tailored to your property.

Helpful?

In Schenectady, unexpected costs during masonry work often result from winter weather delays, which can require extra labor or material protection. Historic homes may need custom brick repair or stonework to match existing materials, and older properties sometimes reveal hidden structural issues once work begins. If your home sits on clay-heavy soil, additional foundation work or drainage solutions may also be necessary, impacting the overall project scope.

Helpful?

In Schenectady, the timeline for masonry work varies based on the project type and season. Simple brick repairs or minor stonework typically finish in a few days, while chimney restoration or foundation work may take one to two weeks. Larger masonry restoration projects can extend for several months, especially if specialty materials are needed or weather conditions cause delays, so always allow extra time in your planning.
