"We had a phone call and he actually helped me figure out that I might need a plumber instead of HVAC repair. Mark was very courteous and so helpful! If we do end up needing to go back to him I will definitely call for them to make a visit."

"They were great! Family run business who were with us every step of the way. It took us a lot of time to decide on what ductless a/c units we wanted and exactly where we wanted them installed but Keith was so helpful working with our many requests and helping us save money to stay within our budget. Highly recommend these guys."

"I called Tony and he told me he didn’t have anyone available. He asked me what was the issue and I explained to him and he told me he can walk me through it. After walking me through how to fix it my heat came on. Tony was absolutely amazing and it took 10 minutes to fix. Will definitely hire him if I need more work done."

"Installed a free standing Viking 5 series. (Not in options) Justin was great!. Efficient, knowledgeable, prepared (had "maybe" parts at the ready) and best of all a warm personality. He made adjustments to the stove and pointed out manufacturing/shipping problems that I would not have seen, and gave me advice on getting them sorted. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this type of service."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a deck over your outdoor HVAC unit, but you need to leave at least 5 feet of vertical clearance above the unit. If you don’t want your deck to be that high off the ground, you could build a floating deck in another part of your yard—again, as long as you leave at least 4 feet of horizontal space between the deck and your AC unit.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.

You should clean your air conditioner at least once per year, but you may need to clean your whole HVAC system (including the air ducts) more often. According to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, you may need to clean them more frequently depending on factors like whether you smoke, have pets, or have allergies.

The top reason to purchase an HVAC maintenance contract is the fact that it ensures you are detecting problems before they turn into expensive fixes. Secondly, this type of contract provides priority service, which is nice if it’s peak busy season. Finally, an HVAC maintenance contract provides discounts on parts and labor for repairs, which can save you a good amount of money if your unit breaks.

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.
