"We were extremely happy with the work performed by H&M. Moises, Hector and crew were courteous and did whatever needed to please us. They did most of the renovation in our condo......painting, installation of bathroom cabinets, sink, installed tile floor, etc. They also installed vinyl flooring in our kitchen, living and dining rooms. They had a plumber replace our heating baseboard, I would highly recommend H&M if you want excellent work done!!"

"They responded right away. We needed more communication on the details of the work. Language barrier cause some issues, I don't speak Spanish. They were polite and professional. I would recommend them to others."

"Antonio, at Greenovative, was great. I really enjoyed his professionalism. He and his crew found creative ways to decrease the price of the project. We are happy we gave Greenovative this project. Honestly, we will use them again."

"Sales person was very knowledgeable and not pushy, explained all details of refacing and our options. We liked proposal, signed contract at the same day . Next week owner Seth did measurements, offered large choice of new cabinet handles and in 5 weeks we got a call that everything is ready for installation (new cabinet with countertop including). Within 3 days 2 skilled workers completed the job. They covered entire kitchen with plastic, so dust from the kitchen was minimal in the rest of the house. They replaced for us new door shelves that we purchased separately. Everything looks now gorgeous and fresh. Our old kitchen is 33 years old. Now it looks brand new. We replaced all old shelves, drawers, doors, hardware. Refacing is the way when you want to save on hassle of replacing entire kitchen. Much faster, cheaper and easier to survive those installations. Thank you very much to Seth and crew."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a kitchen island ranges from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800. The final cost depends on whether you buy a prefabricated unit or have one custom-built. Prefabricated kitchen islands are generally cheaper. A simple prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent, stationary prefabricated island costs from $900 to $5,000. A custom-built kitchen island averages around $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.

If your walls aren’t plumb, it can make installing frameless cabinets difficult because they require precise measurements so they don’t show imperfections. Any dissymmetry with installation can cause the doors and drawers to not function correctly. Frameless cabinets are also thicker and heavier, making them harder to install by yourself.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

A medicine cabinet on its own won’t add a lot of value, but is in general considered to be a good feature to have. Since any added storage is desirable, a medicine cabinet can improve resale value some. Making your bathroom more functional is appealing to buyers if you’re looking to sell your home.

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.
