"Jayrod and Dominic were professional and great efficient workers. They introduced themselves and made sure they understood our needs, going over all the pieces that needed to be moved room by room and carefully completed the task. I am using them again to move more furniture this week."

"The move went so very well thanks to Men On The Move. The crew of three that I had was beyond wonderful. The foreman of the crew understood how nervous I was about the move and he assuaged my fears by really being empathetic and taking great care of my furniture. The three man crew worked so well together. They were totally in synch. There was no dilly dallying and they finished the move so quickly and perfectly. In addition, all of my furniture was wrapped, which I did not expect. The crew of three that worked with me really knew what it was doing and took such great pride in the job. Would highly recommend Men On The Move."

"The team did a great job. They got our full apartment , sectional, king size bed box springs frame and head board (among plenty of other things) packed and ready to go in no time at all. I had nothing but faith once I saw the team and to say that it was the best money I have spent during the moving/ home buying process would be an understatement Tom, Anthony, Basil, Eg, and Jihad are all Masters at their craft and I would be quick to recommend them to any friend or family looking to move out of their home."

"It went well. The only feedback I had was that it required an hour of time to be added to whatever purchase you made from movers, just to cover the moving of vault from the headquarters to the site and then from the next site to the headquarters. That wasn't super clear in the deal or even when I spoke with the company to sign everything up. So when I ended up finishing up and paying everything out, there was an extra hour on there that had to be paid mandatory. It was just a little unexpected, not that big of a deal, but it would have been good to know that ahead of time. It was an extra $115. Other than that, the guys were fine. They did everything well. It was a surprise at the very end of everything to have to shell out another hour because of it."

Moving questions, answered by experts

If you need to move heavy furniture inside your house, like a grandfather clock, consider hiring professional movers for this service, too. Many moving companies advertise in-house moving services, including transporting heavy items to different rooms or floors of the house. It’s best to hire professional movers for this task to avoid damaging parts of your home, like narrow stairways or flooring, or the item during the process.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.

Yes, you’ll need a dolly to move a washer or dryer. These appliances are extremely heavy and cumbersome. A dolly and heavy-duty straps will streamline the moving process and reduce the chances of an accidental injury. As a bonus, a dolly helps protect your flooring from scratches that can occur during the moving process.

Yes, you can take your potted plants with you when you move if you use sterilized potting soil. However, some states have strict guidelines about this practice, so it’s best to consult the Department of Agriculture’s regulations surrounding pest control and plant types ahead of your move.

The first step in moving a house is to provide blueprints and assess which parts of the house you can move. The next steps are obtaining permits, inspecting the structure, securing road permits, and getting bank approval.

When it's time to move, professionals can prepare the house by disconnecting utilities, removing items, and adding support braces. The house is then lifted with steel beams, jacked up, and placed on dollies for transport. Once it’s at the new location, it gets lowered onto the new foundation, utilities get reconnected, and additional features, like porches or garages, are added.
