"We needed work done on our 30 year old house. Painting, new counter tops, wood flooring, plumbing. They did all work in an outstanding manner, especially paying attention to detail. Painted interior and exterior, installed new sinks after Lowes installed new counter top, removed 30 year old carpeting and installed new wood floors, including stairs. I would not hesitate to recommend Richardo to anyone looking for work to be done."
"The install went very well. I asked Rudolf to do something a little custom and he did exactly what I asked, as we tested the door we found that doing it the custom way I wanted wasn't as functional as I originally thought. Rudolf corrected the problem and even came back the next day to do some finishing touches at no additional cost. I was very happy with the service and our puppy is happy too! I would use Silver Desert again."
"I originally had him come out in January and he gave me a bid. The price was good and he had good feedback. I called him to come out towards the end of February. He was busy with some other jobs and it took him almost two weeks before he could come out to do my job. He actually called me and said his other job finished early and asked me if he could start one business day earlier than we had previously scheduled. He arrived on time and completed the job in one day. The paint turned out great and they were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. They removed and re-installed the blinds and the finished product is great. I will use him again."
"Excellent company! We had a residential solar system installed in 2014. We started having problems this year with reduced production, and any rain would knock the system offline for several days, up to a week or two. The company we used was one of the many fly-by-night companies that flooded the valley during the solar boom. Like most, the company went bust. We had a great warranty, but the warranty doesn’t do much good if the company is long gone. Many of our neighbors had solar systems installed after ours and they all used Today’s Energy Store. They are all very satisfied with their systems and recommended we contact Today’s Energy Store for potential repair. Today’s Energy Store also has a second company, Solar RX, that is dedicated to system repairs. Mark, the owner, came out to evaluate the problem and came out two more times to discuss repair options. The wiring on our roof was a mess and many of the connectors had failed. One option Mark offered was to repair the wiring problems they could find, but we would most likely have continued problems in the future. A second option was to replace all the wiring and convert our DC system to AC, which is more efficient, by installing micro converters on the panels and removing the large inverter in our garage. That is the option we selected and had four additional panels installed at the same time since the original installer undersized our system. The price for the conversion and additional panels was fair and the panels that Today Energy Store sells, Sun Powe, are a much higher quality than the cheaper Trina panels that our original installer used. After Solar RX completed the repairs, they found that some of our panels were not producing, and others were producing very little electricity. Mark did some research and found that Trina had problems with panels they sold during the period when our system was installed. Solar RX sent a technician out on three separate occasions to take pictures, get serial numbers and document output readings. Solar RX contacted Trina, confirmed our panels were still within the manufactured warranty period, filed a warranty claim on our behalf, provided all the documentation and pictures and persuaded Trina to replace all 36 of our original panels. The effort Solar RX expended to have Trina replace our panels under warranty was amazing. Trina replaced the panels but would not cover that install costs. Solar RX installed the 36 new panels for a very reasonable cost. When all was said and done, we ended up with an entirely new, much more efficient system, with additional capacity, for a very fair price. We couldn’t be happier with the service provide by Solar RX. Kudos to Mark, the owner, who came out to explain the problems and solutions and helped with the work; Justin the technician that we worked with on multiple occasions who is the consuamte professional, friendly, very knowledgeable of solar systems and a very hard worker; and Lynne the Project Manager who worked with us diligently by phone and email, answered all of our questions and quickly responded to concerns. We highly recommend Today’s Energy Store / Solar RX to anyone that is considering installing a solar system or has a system that needs repairs."
"Chris came out to evaluate and estimate the amount of insulation needed. On installation day, Eduardo and Bernardo arrived on time. Eduardo explained what they would be doing and they got to work. The whole job was done in 3 hours, including a thorough clean up. We were very pleased with the job and with the pleasantness and professionalism of Eduardo and Bernardo. We definitely recommend G&R Insulation to anyone who needs insulation done on their home."
"Javier called ahead of time to confirm that he was on his way, and when he arrived, he introduced himself and described what he would do. Then, he pulled out his ladder and climbed onto the roof. He came down to retrieve supplies he needed to apply some fresh tar and mastic where needed. He noticed that a piece of plastic molding was missing over the porch (against the house behind the tile shingles). He did not have one on his truck, so he explained that he had one at his shop and would be back momentarily. He returned within 15 minutes with the molding, installed it, and then reviewed the work he did. He showed before-and-after photos from our roof of the places where he replenished the tar and mastic. The before-photos were very similar to the ones taken a month or so earlier by the home inspector when we were in the process of purchasing the house, so even though I was not on the roof to see what he saw, I feel confident that he found and addressed the needed preventive maintenance. The home inspector had not noticed the missing molding, but Javier did--and he replaced it. We are new to tile roofs, so I appreciate the time and attention that Javier took to make sure that this one is in good shape. "
"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.
Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.
Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.
There are a few ways to save money on egress window installation. First, choosing pre-fabricated windows instead of custom windows can help dramatically reduce the overall cost. In addition, skipping window extras, like customized frames or window film, can help save money on the price tag without sacrificing the window itself. You should also shop around to multiple window installers to find the best installation deal without sacrificing the quality of the window.
