"Eric was great to work with. He showed up at the times he said he would. The work was performed promptly, scheduling was easy (from the time we spoke about the project to the time work started was within one week), the project was completed on schedule. The quality of work was great. If I need further landscaping etc I would definitely call Vargus Tree Service & Maintenance first!"

Small jobs welcome

"W. H. Tree Service is Highly Recommended by me. Henry and his crew were professional and courteous at all times. Their bid to cut down 2 VERY large Pine trees was better than most and worth every penny. The crews clean up was much better than I expected. You cannot tell there were 2 big Pine trees were even there for 30 years. If you need a hard working proficient tree service, you can not go wrong contacting Henry."

"Excellent work, they trimmed the trees and scrubâ  s, checked my drip system and removed a couple of dead plants. The clean up was good and I will have them back. The best part was all three guys were very pleasant and easy to talk to. Iâ  ve had several people take care of my yard and this is the first group in 4 1/2 years. I will call back."

"Really good company. Friendly and professional crew. We use them every year to trim a couple large fast growing trees in our yard. Good pricing. They walk through the job with me, and even ask during to verify which large branches I want cut. They made sure to keep me informed throughout the process and cleaned up perfectly on the way out. I’ll keep using them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A tree branch should start to form roots in about three months. It can take about a year for a tree branch to develop roots strong enough to go in the ground. For best results, start several branches because, no matter how closely you follow instructions, they won’t all form roots. Compost any that aren’t thriving.

Tree pruning is a common and helpful tree maintenance technique that involves carefully cutting and trimming unwanted branches so that the tree can continue to grow and thrive. Pruning is done carefully and intentionally. Tree topping is a frowned-upon method that involves removing and cutting most or the entirety of the top of the tree, including structurally important branches.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

Unlike some fruit trees, such as apple, sweet cherry, or pear that require at least two trees for pollination, most peach trees are self-pollinating. This means you can plant just one tree and still expect it to produce fruit, typically within two to four years. For best results, consult with a local landscaper to choose the right peach tree variety for your specific climate, soil type, and yard layout.

If you don’t stake a tree that needs support, it could be at greater risk of being damaged or failing completely, whether it uproots or falls over. That could cause damage to your property or other surrounding trees. If you want to grow healthy trees, you may need to stake them for best results.
