"Alex and crew from Vargas Tree Service did an excellent job planting the trees and plants for me. They did so much work and did a great job I'll definitely have them back to do the backyard landscaping. I would recommend them to anybody that needs landscaping and tree planting needs."

"Eric with Vargas Landscaping started by cutting down and removing several trees which was done in one day. He and the crew did a fantastic job. They showed up on time and completed the job that we were promised. Two days later he came back and removed all of the outdated landscaping and irrigation system. He replaced all the plants and rock landscaping in three days. He installed lighting for our new path along with new pavers. He is honest and did what he promised. We would highly recommend."

"I phoned 4 contractors to get bids on this job.  Mike Lawrence came out from Land View.  He was courteous, punctual and creative with the design and materials used for the job.  He monitored the job throughout and made sure it was completed well and in a timely manner.  The crew was polite and showed up on time each day.  They were concerned for the safety of my dogs,  and they left the job site clean.  I have gotten many compliments from neighbors about how my yard looks!  I am very satisfied with the services I received from Land View and MIke.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

Yes, forestry mulching can grind stumps, but the level of effectiveness depends on the equipment used. Drum mulchers can break down smaller stumps, but larger or deep-rooted stumps may require a dedicated stump grinder for complete removal. If full stump removal is necessary for replanting or construction, additional excavation may be needed. Always check with your forestry mulching provider to confirm whether they offer stump grinding and if their equipment is suitable for your specific needs.

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.
