"Really good company. Friendly and professional crew. We use them every year to trim a couple large fast growing trees in our yard. Good pricing. They walk through the job with me, and even ask during to verify which large branches I want cut. They made sure to keep me informed throughout the process and cleaned up perfectly on the way out. I’ll keep using them."

"I originally contacted Jordan last June to inquire about getting this work scheduled. He stated that it could probably get done around mid July. In the beginning of July, I emailed him again and he scheduled a date, time and price to pay. The weather was pouring down rain and we had some safety concerns with intermittent lightning. So when John and the crew arrived, we all waited for conditions to improve. Then the crew did a quality job trimming my three palms."

"The project took 2 1/2 weeks, and after extensive demolition the only things left were the pool and a still healthy hedge along the back wall. Over the next 2 weeks, Mike and his hard working crew turned it all into a very attractive space that is also low maintenance. It includes a large expanse of pavers with inlaid designs, a sitting wall, deep planting beds with lush plantings, new water lines, and automatic night lighting. The quality of workmanship is very good as is the heartiness of the plants. We feel like we are living at one of our city's high-end hotels! Mike was a pleasure to work with -- always checking in on the site, and responsive to some tweaks we suggested along the way. When issues cropped up, he simply handled them. There was not a moment of anxiety on our part. Once the project commenced there was no lag time...it was finished just when Mike said it would be. When the time comes, we are looking forward to having Land View re-do our front yard. We highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality job at a fair price!"

"The service turned out well. The technician was very nice. In the end, I actually got my money back for the deal. The guys came in with their chainsaws and did clean up all of the palms. They left a mess of palm seeds and debris all over, however. The service was more trouble than what it was worth. I called the owner regarding my complaint and he let me know that because of the huge response from the deal offer they were rushed and overbooked. The owner was very nice and realized the error of his ways. I would assume under normal circumstances a good job would have been done."

"Great. We would definitely use Taylormade again. Not only are we delighted with the final result, the entire process was smooth: well-planned, well-staffed, and well-executed. Every person on the Taylormade team was professional, knowledgable, hard-working, responsive, and friendly. Thanks to everyone - we really love the backyard again and now WANT to be out there! Things I particularly appreciated: Quality. The quality of the planning and execution was terrific. All the turf, the putting green, the rock placement, all of it was very well-done. The real achievement though has to be the paver path. There were some awkward spots where the new path met up with an existing curved patio and the crew did an amazing job cutting the pavers in a way that looks great and natural. And the arrangement of the various colors of pavement looks wonderful - there is definitely an art to it and the crew got it just right. Professional yet Friendly. I felt they got this balance just right. From being punctual for appointments to clarity and thoroughness in the estimate to cleaning up at the end of each day, every piece of the job was handled in a professional way. In addition, the crew would say hello and smile and willingly answer any questions - not for anything, but when you have strangers in your life for a couple of weeks it's nice when they look you in the face and smile! Customer Service. Jamel volunteered information and suggestions, but listened closely to what we wanted for our yard and delivered. The crew was also terrific, taking as much time with me as I needed to figure out exact placement of plants and talking through options for a slight change we requested mid-job. Customer service was also evident in the respect they showed my home - taking care of the property - drop cloths where needed to protect against rock, etc. and never leaving personal trash. This last may not matter to some folks, but that is a biggee for me. When I get work done it's a bummer and hard to feel good about spending the money when you find lunch wrappers and soda bottles under a shrub or something."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Tree borers are difficult to control and remove once they make a home in your tree. However, with patience and determination, some methods can slow the damage or even eliminate the pests. But, once the damage is too much for the tree to handle, the only solution becomes removing it. Talk to a tree specialist early for the best chance at saving your tree.

Professionals ensure safety, prevent property damage, and handle debris efficiently.
