"Nick provided a top-to-bottom, end-to-end renovation/upgrade to a two bedroom apartment for sale including the full bathroom from floors to walls to shower and sink faucets, vanities, mirror and medicine cabinet demo and installation, repaired/filled holes and painted - basically everything other than the tub replacement so that it was a brand new, spotless room. He continued this effort and workmanship in every room and demoed and installed all new pergo flooring for the open floor plan kitchen and living room and bedrooms, landings as well as new stairs replacing dated laminate and carpeting. The kitchen cabinets, countertops, faucet, etc. were completely updated and made the most of the space while being designed in way to fit an over the stove microwave in the future. Future designs were factored into the cabinet layout/installation. He repaired/filled large holes in walls, ceilings, doors left during a move-out and painted the entire apartment to make it fresh and updated where you couldn’t notice the holes anymore. Incorporated all the finishing touches that a realtor identified to complete the renovation. You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire. 

The number of shower niches you need (or want) depends on the size of the shower and how many bathroom products you plan on storing. If you keep it simple with just soap and shampoo, the one shower niche will probably do the trick. But if you’re adding scrubs and soaks, you may need to think about installing two or more.

DIY is possible, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, leveling, and longevity.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.

The time it takes to retile a bathroom includes the installation time for the grout and tile, prep work, and waiting time. The waiting time allows the mortar, grout, and caulk to cure correctly.

A professional tiler can finish your bathroom tiling in about 6 to 8 hours. Add another 24 hours in between steps, for 2 to 3 days before the tiling is done.
