The actual day of install was great. The workers were very efficient and prompt. I gave the sp a heads-up when scheduling that the property is outside of their area, which I was assured would be ok. I experienced a lot of issues regarding the distance. The plumber they used did not do the work himself, but a worker, and I was misled about this. This worker took my key to the property, which kept the realtor from being able to show the property to a new renter. When I complained to Discover Granite, they acted as if this was my issue with the plumber and not theirs. I would have really appreciated some follow-up customer service, which might have kept me from leaving this review. Additionally, I ended up spending $1500 more with this vendor on top of the deal purchased from Angie’s List. Also, it was not clear that you do have to go physically to the showroom and choose the materials, the technican that comes out to do the measuring does not bring any samples with him.
Quartz countertop was installed without a hitch. The marble was another story. First the counter was cut incorrectly on the edges leaving gaps. They assumed we would be installing side backsplashes but when they came to measure I made it clear there will be cabinets resting on top of the counter and no backsplashes can be installed so the cut must be perfect. In addition the marble piece used was not from the slab my wife had selected. They took both the counter and saddle back and found the slab my wife chose and recut the pieces. They went above and beyond to make this right. They opened their shop on the weekend to cut the pieces and installed it by Tuesday thereby limiting the delay on our construction progress. In addition they threw in some door saddles free of charge to make up for the error.
In summary some mistakes were made but they owed up to them, ate the cost, and made them right. Can't ask for anything else!
