"We have used spotlight twice now! Very impressed! LouAnn is the owner..... she is helpful, informative and communicative. We had a ceiling fan installed in our attic. The contractor who came out to do the work was great! I would highly recommend."

"We’ve used Alex with Quantum for a number of jobs since closing on our house in June of 2022, from installing ceiling fans to upgrading our circuit breaker service box. We will not hesitate to hire him for any additional electrical work we need. He is responsive, organized, his crew works very clean and he charges reasonable prices."

"These guys are fantastic. I called for them and they came within the hour. The foreman is very professional, thorough and courtesy. He noticed and immediately discussed things that needed correction. I had two fans installed in my great room and the price he gave me was extremely fair. He even changed my halogen bulbs from my high ceiling to LED. The explanation of each course of action was given in detail, and with enough comprehension for understanding. These gentlemen cleanup quickly. If you need to have electrical work done, Ohms electricians are trustworthy electricians."

"We were very satisfied with their work. I didn't hear my husband say anything to that contrary. I assumed that he was happy with the work. The fuse box was good. The quality of work was fine. I think they were very timely."

"Very friendly, professional, personable, and neat brothers. Jesse and Ryan installed recess lighting, added a new ceiling fan and switched out an old fan for a new one, (even played with my two dogs). Throughly cleaned up and moved all of my furniture back into place. My home looked as if these guys were never in my home. Awesome, Highly recommend, and will be calling soon for an outside project. **Great Pricing!!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.
