However, I was disappointed in a tune up amounting to just a check of voltage on my motor and capacitors. I thought there would be cleaning involved and an adding of a pound of freon to my unit as advertised. That didn't happen. I received an estimate of over $700 for the replacement of 3 capacitors. I could replace all 3 for under $50. To charge $650 labor is raping the customer. Then the blower motor (that is NOT multispeed) was estimated at about $1100 replacement. The motor costs $210. So again...I feel raped. For a charge of almost$900 for labor. Unbelievable! I've lost my trust in companies that are so money hungry that they lose sight of reasonable business. I will now change out my own parts as I have no confidence of reasonable pricing. Maybe people can afford to be overcharged about $1100. I can't and I won't if I can help it. Next time I'll use my own voltage meter and check my motor voltage and resistance on my capisiters myself. They should be paying me for their so called "tune-ups" as they are only a ploy to pressure you to buy a new furnace/AC system. Ohh and they won't install a new furnace to an old AC unit and Visa versa. That's what the guy told me. Are you kidding me? He told me it would cost$11,000-17,000 for a new system. My father in law just replaced both for $9,000.... So again a minimum of $2,000 overcharge. Nope, Horizon, your scam won't work with me. I'll be glad to tell everyone I meet and show them your ridiculous estimates!"

I selected Flourtown service center (FSC) as they were able to accommodate me on a Saturday with short notice (sticker was to expire in 2 days) and the price was extremely competitive. We arrived in the morning to drop of the car and the staff were friendly and professional. They called within a couple of hours to advise that the car was done and said we could leave it as long as we would like. We picked up our car later in the day after running errands and the staff was once again very friendly and the car was ready to roll. I would recommend bringing your vehicle to FSC for this service and if our car were to need further mechanical service, I would certainly bring it back.

"AC was installed by another company listed on Angie's in 2014. Without a maintenance agreement, they charged $89+tax just to come out and check the system. I was then told that the coil needed to be acid washed at a cost of an additional $207+tax. I thought this a bit much for a system that was not that old. Herring's had an offer on Angie's for $84.55 for a 20-point Tune-up including cleaning the coil. Andrew from Herring's checked out the system in the attic and the outside unit and found that the amount of coolant in the system was not what the manufacturer specified. He added two pounds and only charged for one pound @$80, in addition to the $89. He said the coil did not need cleaning. He also suggested we try using a thinner filter in the return vent to see if that helps. A friend has since told me that $80 per pound for coolant is steep, but since he gave one pound free it worked out about right. The AC seemed to be working much better, but the weather cooled down and we have not had 90+ degree days since then, In fact, it has been off for two days of cool weather. I will see how it does when we get another hot spell."

"Jeff from Accurate Temp.'s called me and we set up an appointment for him come out and give an esimate to install duct work and AC unit.  The same night he sent me the esimate via email.  After agreeing with the estimate and giving half the down payment they started their work and within days all work was installed and complete.  The AC unit has been working great in these hot summer days we've been having! "
