"I hired Built-Well Builders to extend a balcony floor in my home - giving me additional living space. The extension looks like it’s always been part of my home as everything matches perfectly! I absolutely love it. This is my second time using Built-Well. First time was my master bath and bedroom renovation; another project I was absolutely thrilled with. Both Keith and Grant are very professional and skilled - as are all their subcontractors. I highly highly highly recommend them."

"I hired BEX Contracting to skim coat and paint my mother apartment. Bex was very helpful with mount of paperwork required by the building. The apartment had a lot of cracks in the wall and ceiling. Bex and his team did a fantastic job scraping the cracks and skim coating to a smooth finish both walls and ceiling. The paint job was very good. I highly recommend Bex and his team."

"Cesar and his workers' were prompt. Most importantly, they are efficient and professional individuals. They completed the home improvement projects as promised. Cesar also fixed another home improvement project; we had not discussed. Lastly, the team cleaned-up after they finished the home projects."

"This contracting company does live up to their name. They do what they day and do it in a timely manner. They built a new 5' X 9' addition to my house that included a 1/2 bath and a hallway. They handled everything from the beginning to the end of the project very professionally and with great expertise for knowing how to accomplish the job. This is a great company to hire to do many different home improvement projects. I also had them do the following work in my house: gut and retile/remodel 2 existing bathrooms and replaced surface ceiling lights with LED slim lights. The prices for the projects were fair and the quality was excellent. They are all about trying to help their customers save money where/when possible. Their workers were magnificent with their knowledge, skills and attention to all detail. I was totally satisfied with their work. They stayed on the work site daily until the projects were completed and they returned very timely to complete a job once the material came in. If you are lookin for an honest, reliable, experienced and dedicated company the Home Improvements Done Right is the company you should hire."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

A split-level home is one that has several staggered floors connected by short staircases, while a split floor plan separates the primary bedroom from the rest of the bedrooms. Split floor plans are most often found in single-story homes, while split-level homes are always at least two stories.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to help optimize and maximize space, functionality, and usage. It is recommended to confirm the availability of this service with your specific installer or contractor.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.
