"*our longer response can be found online all the places the customer posted.* This unfortunate accident happened in March of 2022 and yet the homeowner did not post this unfair and frivolous review until now (Fall of 2022)…that speaks for itself. The reality is this garage had no chance; it was constructed on dirt without any footings, and every single one of the wall studs was completely corroded 6 inches to 1 foot off the ground due to moisture and insect infestation. This garage was literally held together by the siding and the fact that no one had touched it. When the garage leaned over, the Lallygone crews were not on site as the homeowner states. In fact, the mason was trying to remove the old slab and the vibration alone caused the garage to sway over and actually lean onto the mason’s truck in the driveway. Our engineers went on site immediately the next morning with thousands of dollars of structural equipment to ensure safe conditions, stabilize and/or take down the garage as needed. The homeowner, who appeared oddly ecstatic that the garage was condemned, turned us down and insisted that his insurance be on site to see the garage even though our insurance had given us the green light to take pictures and take all the necessary safety measures. Months later, after the homeowner secured payment from the insurance companies for a brand-new garage, he decided to challenge his credit card deposit payment to us. Insurance is contractually required and in place to protect all parties…including us, the contractor. That deposit represents monies we spent working on his dilapidated garage, so he effectively stole it from us. Not only did the homeowner get a new garage, but he profited by almost $18,000. That is double-dipping and fraudulent behavior. Once we decided to stand up for ourselves to recoup what he contractually owed us and monies we spent, then and only then he and his wife decided to post this and many other unfair and dishonest reviews everywhere they could."
"An inspection was completed on July 27, the report upgrade was requested and then completed and sent to you on 8/4. Your email correspondence of 8/19 was missed and is now accounted for. The additional items you are looking to have included, although nonstructural in nature, will be addressed and a revised report sent to you. We apologize that you felt the original report was incomplete."
"Mr. [Member Name Removed] is a repeat customer and we value him. He had asked us to perform a verbal inspection for $395 to address some structural issues. He was advised of the option to receive a sealed engineer’s report for the fee of $595 (a $200 upgrade). He opted for the verbal option. Our field engineer spent a lot of time on site explaining our assessment. Mr. [Member Name Removed] appeared to be satisfied and requested a written estimate for the work as a follow-up, which we provide (and provided him) for free. He received our written estimate the following week, which is the same estimate form and format that we use with our thousands of other satisfied customers since 2008. Mr. [Member Name Removed] then followed up requesting additional information on our estimate in written form, which the estimate is not designed to accommodate. What he was asking for was in truth a written engineer’s report, for which he needed to pay the additional fee. He did not select that option. While we regret the fact that Mr. [Member Name Removed] does not like our estimate forms, it serves our customers’ needs and our business needs and is impossible to customize for each customer. We would be happy to continue to answer any questions for him verbally as he considers his options and of course welcome the opportunity to serve him again. We are disappointed that he chose to post this review, but will continue to try to address his concerns fairly."
