From the time I entered the job in homeadvisor (approx 8am) I was called back before noon. We scheduled a site review later that day. From the time I selected Roadway, there was constant progress. Even when the permits were in progress, they were in constant contact to let me know what was going on. When the permits were in order, they worked nonstop until the job was done. Sputtering water and a constant fluctuation of water pressure from your household faucets and fixtures are the main red flags that something bad is brewing with your well pump. The fix could be as simple as restarting the power or priming the pump, especially if the trouble is occurring after a power outage. However, if troubleshooting the power and pressure of your pump does not get things up and running again, it might be time to replace the pump.

For the most part, choosing between 30/50 psi and 40/60 psi is based on your water-pressure preference. However, it can also depend a little bit on your house—if you have older plumbing, a lower water pressure can be easier on the pipes (and a bit more gentle on your well pump). 

The lower 30/50 pressure is usually enough for a single-story home, but you may want 40/60 if you have multiple stories, as the extra pressure helps water flow smoothly up to the second floor.

By keeping up with regular maintenance and inspections, you can expect your septic system to last 20 to 40 years. You need to have a pro pump your system every three to five years, depending on how much water your household uses. Always call a pro at the first sign of any potential trouble to increase the life span of your system.

Neither system is necessarily better or worse than the other, but one of the two might be better for your needs. For example, anaerobic systems are less expensive than aerobic ones and don’t use power to run. On the other hand, aerobic septic systems don’t take up as much space and are typically more efficient than their anaerobic counterparts.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.
