Customers say: Terrific value

"I had a had 3 trees in my back yard, one of them was very damaged, and the other two had very large broken branches hanging over my neighbors house. Tony was very kind, professional, and priced very reasonably. One tree got cut down, and the other two got trimmed up. Tony and crew were very quick and left no trace of being in the yard. They cleaned up my yard and my neighbors yard, driveway, roof, and the road up very well. Overall, I highly recommend T&M tree service!"

"Knowledgeable, prompt, and almost half the cost to remove several oak branches as two other companies I got estimates from. And, they were able to squeeze me in within a day or two (a two hour job from start to cleanup). The owner/main manager(?) has 36 years of experience and it shows. I highly recommend this company and I will keep them in mind next time my trees need trimming."

"We contacted Doerr Enterprises this last fall to trim our tree in our front yard that was looking a little sad. He was very prompt to get to the job, get it done and cleaned up! We have also hired him for the first snow we got so far this year and he cleaned our drive in no time! Would highly recommend his services!"

"Jay and Josh are amazing arborist! Jay remembered that he spoke with me when he previously worked with a local tree company and stop by to ask me if I still needed tree cut down when he started his own company. I referred them to my neighbors who needed some tree trimming also and my neighbors utilized there service were quite please also. Once again I was blown away with there professionalism and, experience, knowledge, and passion for what they do. These guys were efficient and cleaned up everything. They have fair pricing and don't gauche like other companies in the city. I will hire them over and over again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In most cases, your neighbor is responsible for roots from their tree that cause damage to your property. If your pavement, the foundation of your home, or a fence is damaged by roots from a neighbor’s tree, you likely will have legal recourse for financial relief. While it’s better to notify your neighbor of any problems you notice as soon as they arise to avoid costly damage, there are some instances where filing a civil suit is your only recourse. Your homeowner’s insurance company might wish to do so on your behalf if you file a claim.

Service costs depend on several factors, including the system's age, type, and size, as well as the complexity of the repair. Labor costs and whether replacement parts are necessary also play a significant role.

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

The Christmas tree type that smells the best to you will ultimately depend on personal preference. But if that classic Christmas tree smell is important to you, choosing a type of tree known for its scent is a safe bet. Try a balsam fir for a spicy, comforting scent or a Douglas fir for a sweeter smell. You may also like Fraser firs, Scotch pines, and blue spruces.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.
