Small jobs welcome

"Jay and Josh are amazing arborist! Jay remembered that he spoke with me when he previously worked with a local tree company and stop by to ask me if I still needed tree cut down when he started his own company. I referred them to my neighbors who needed some tree trimming also and my neighbors utilized there service were quite please also. Once again I was blown away with there professionalism and, experience, knowledge, and passion for what they do. These guys were efficient and cleaned up everything. They have fair pricing and don't gauche like other companies in the city. I will hire them over and over again."

"The services performed went as smooth as expected. Mike was able to trim our biggest tree and remove an entire evergreen that had been exposed to bag worms. The work was quick and efficient and I would highly recommend him to anyone. We will definitely utilize his expertise in the future."

"From the time Joshua ( Great guy) came for the estimate, to the time they gave me to do the work, they were spot on for the appointed times. Jake ( The owner) and Marco were a pleasure to work with and their climber Eric was very good, and fast! Would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to anyone needing tree work done. "I got a few quotes for removal of a tree in my backyard and Jay’s was the best one. Jay was very kind and kept to his word on starting the project on the agreed upon day. I was quoted one day to remove an oak tree that had been there for well over 60 years. Jay and his team also trimmed a tree in my front yard. That being said, I have two dogs and a fence had to be taken down which is why the singular day to remove and clean up was important. Day one, they trimmed the limbs and said they needed to go to another job down the street and they’d be back the next day to finish. Four days later (rain impacted finishing the job on two days) I requested to at least have the fence up. All in all it took a week to go from start to finish. If time and fences were not of concern I would give the company five stars. They effectively removed the tree and ground the stump out."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

Tree borers are difficult to control and remove once they make a home in your tree. However, with patience and determination, some methods can slow the damage or even eliminate the pests. But, once the damage is too much for the tree to handle, the only solution becomes removing it. Talk to a tree specialist early for the best chance at saving your tree.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.
