"AA Fence and Deck was a surefire win as I searched for a fence contractor. I live in a new home community and needed a fence built against an existing border fence. The PM Ryan was quick to give me a quote that was thorough, fair, and transparent. Triple A promptly handled the permit and the HOA paperwork and I was able to review all documents via an online portal. The project crew did an AMAZING job installing the cap and trim fence. The craftsmanship is solid and I was kept informed during the process from start to finish. I really appreciated Ryan and Steven’s visit to check on how the project was coming along, and the team completed it in 2.5 days. A HUGE THANK you to Triple A for such great customer service. My family and my dog will enjoy this fence for years to come!!"

"The Fence Work team did an excellent job replacing two portions of our wood fence and creating a double gate on one side and a single gate on the other. It all went very well and we definately would hire them again."

"Bill is awesome to work with. He came when he said, finished the project quicker than we anticipated, and the quality is unmatched. The pricing is very competitive as well. If you need a fence, I wouldn’t call anyone else and I’ll recommend this company to anyone in the future that asks."

"Initially, I wasn't comfortable hiring a landscape company to install a fence. However, the gentleman reached out to me twice asking to give me an estimate. Eventually I gave in and texted him my requirements. One of the requirements he said he has never done before but he was reading up on it. Well I didn't receive any more texts after that so I guess that means he isn't going to do the job, which is fine but just say that."

"I would recommend Churchill Painting and Renovations and would use them again for a project of this type. I had several estimates for a painting job on a home with substantial amounts of exterior detail. Initially, I was looking for someone to fix some bad trim and paint the trim only. Cary did an effective job showing me how the original paint job on my year 2001 home truly needed to be completely redone. His estimate was not the lowest estimate , and neither was it the highest. I felt that it was the best value among the estimates that I received, given the quality of paint that would be used, the level of service that was promised, and the extras that Cary promised.
We were substantially delayed in getting the project started due to the wet weather of this fall--you can't paint when it is raining or it's gonna rain, and there was a lot of it in September! In the days before we started, Cary sent one of his project managers to help us choose paint colors. He was thoughtful and patient with us as we made the choices--and helpful and responsive through the whole process. The job started as scheduled, and was done in a very reasonable amount of time. There was more trim repair that was necessary that we anticipated, and that led to a small increase in price, but no more than the materials and labor costs. After the main house was painted, the manager helped us to choose a deck stain color, which was done on the last day of the work. They did a great job with the carpentry, the colors, and the details. They were great guys and easy to work with.
After the main job was completed, there were of course some things that needed to be addressed--mainly some stuck windows and a few touch ups. This part of the process was a little harder, again partly due to weather, and partly because there was a transition in who was managing our project. Cary sent a 5-man crew to our house when they became unexpectedly available, which was both responsive, but unexpected. (This is my reason for giving a B for punctuality--they were never late! :)The downside of having little notice was that communication was hard, and I, the person who knew what needed to be done, could not be at the property. Instead, my wife had to inspect and sign-off on the repairs...while she was watching our 2 young children. So when not everything was finished, I had to follow up again. My reason for giving a B in responsiveness is because the communication around this follow up was more drawn out. When I was able to speak with Cary and work out the details, it was made clear that everything will be taken care of to my satisfaction. Part of what is not yet done is something that was an "extra," which was a reason for my choosing of this contractor, but this extra was not done as I requested. Cary has promised that this will be done correctly and promptly. I'll update this review when the last pieces are finished. The rainy weather has made it harder to know when that will happen, but the matters here are not urgent.
Overall, this was a good value, and an excellently done job. The house looks great and is far better protected from the elements. They even painted the mailbox and the attic vents! The crew was awesome--it's so cool to see a group of a dozen men descend on a home and transform it. Thank you Churchill Painting!

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Smithfield, leaning or unstable posts, sagging panels, or visible wood rot are clear signs fencing may need replacement. Rusted hardware, fencing that obstructs drainage, or encroaches on property lines can also signal issues. If the fence no longer meets current setback requirements or has gaps after storm damage, it’s wise to consider a full fence replacement to maintain security and property value.

Helpful?

Delaying fence repairs or replacement in Smithfield can lead to property line disputes, increased risk of storm damage, and potential HOA violations. Damaged fencing may allow unwanted wildlife onto your property or compromise privacy and security. The humid climate accelerates deterioration, turning minor issues into major ones. Neglected fencing can also affect insurance claims if storm damage occurs, making timely maintenance essential for property protection.

Helpful?

Quality fencing in Smithfield shows posts anchored deeply in concrete to withstand local soil and weather, with materials chosen for NC’s humidity. Properly installed fencing will follow property lines and maintain even height and spacing. Look for smooth gate operation, secure fasteners, and visible attention to drainage. Confirm that any required permits for taller fences were obtained and that the installation respects property boundaries.

Helpful?

In Smithfield, fencing projects are often designed with future property changes in mind. Homeowners can opt for modular fencing systems or adjustable panels, making it easier to add gates or expand for new landscaping or driveways. Planning ahead includes leaving space for potential fence replacement and ensuring access to utilities. Always review neighborhood guidelines, as HOA rules and property boundaries may evolve as Smithfield grows.

Helpful?

Fencing in Smithfield often starts as basic privacy fencing for new homes. As landscaping matures, homeowners may add gates, trellises, or decorative elements. Over 10-15 years, many upgrade to more durable materials like vinyl or composite to better handle NC’s climate. Regular maintenance, such as sealing or reinforcing posts, becomes crucial, and full fence replacement is common after 15-20 years to ensure continued curb appeal and function.
