"The Fence Work team did an excellent job replacing two portions of our wood fence and creating a double gate on one side and a single gate on the other. It all went very well and we definately would hire them again."

"Bill is awesome to work with. He came when he said, finished the project quicker than we anticipated, and the quality is unmatched. The pricing is very competitive as well. If you need a fence, I wouldn’t call anyone else and I’ll recommend this company to anyone in the future that asks."

"We were extremely satisfied. Dallas and his crew were very personable and professional. His price was half again of the estimates given by several competitors and his flexibility of scheduling met our needs perfectly. He completed our project over a 2 day period when other landscapers told us the work would take up to a week. Bermuda super sod looks great. Current rains have really helped to make it "happy." Hopefully, we will complete our part of the "bargain" to keep it watered and nurtured. We highly recommend Dallas and Season to Season Landscaping."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The most durable metal for a fence is wrought iron. With proper care, a wrought iron fence can last for centuries. This means regular resealing to stave off rust and corrosion, especially in coastal climates with salty sea air. In these environments, chain link and corrugated fencing tend to stand up better to the elements with fewer maintenance needs.

In addition to the fence itself, several factors can impact the overall price of putting a fence in. Consider these add-ons and necessary expenses when building your project budget. For example, additional cost factors may include:

  • Removing your existing fence

  • Land leveling and other site work

  • Tree and stump removal

  • New landscaping

  • Working around underground utilities

  • Painting and staining

You'll pay less on average for the cost of a wooden fence compared to aluminum. However, the price highly depends on the type of wood, the fence design, and extra additions like gates and coats of paint. For example, you may pay less to install an aluminum fence since the panels anchor in the ground, whereas wood fences often take longer to construct, especially picket fences.

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.

The type of horse fence that’s most effective in the short term depends on your budget. Plastic fencing works as a temporary fence idea for those on a tight budget but doesn’t offer as much protection. Pipe fencing can be a short-term option as well. Despite its high cost, you can install and remove it easily if you need to relocate your pasture area.
