"Matt came out to the house on June 5th to evaluate our fence and the work that needed to be done. Right away, my husband and I felt very comfortable with Matt as he explained everything his crew would do once they started the work. On June 6th Matt sent via email a complete quote which he had stated on June 5th and a contract. On June 11th around 8:30am, the Fence Works crew showed up and begin working. As they tore down the old fence they promptly removed the pieces and put them on their truck. They worked diligently removing the old and replacing it with the new. Around 3:00pm they had finished the fence and cleaned up. We were very satisfied with the finished product. Our neighbors even commented on how good the new fence look. Although we did not have the entire fence replaced, we now have second thoughts and plan to call Matt to come back and replace the rest of the fence. Also I plan to use Fence Works, LLC when we move into our new house to put up a vinyl fence. We loved the work they did and Matt is so professional and friendly. Thanks Fence Works, we love you and will recommend you to all our friends and neighbors. Hope to see you soon!"

"Bill is awesome to work with. He came when he said, finished the project quicker than we anticipated, and the quality is unmatched. The pricing is very competitive as well. If you need a fence, I wouldn’t call anyone else and I’ll recommend this company to anyone in the future that asks."

"From the estimator and office staff to the installers everything was smooth and very professionally executed. I requested four different estimates and Robco's offer was better than 10% lower than offers 2 and 3 and 22% lower than the number 4 offer. Overall I was 100 percent satisfied with all aspects of the fence from estimating, pricing, scheduling, and last but not least the actual installation. If any neighbors ask about fencing, I will provide them Robco's name and contact information."

"Kevin Beddingfield has 20+ years exp. In this window treatment arena and runs this division. Kevin came and gave us an estimate in a very professional and timely manner. He worked with our requirements and had the Plantation Shutters match our custom paint and stain. Kevin came to install the shutters and completed the entire task in record time! We would highly recommend them for any related jobs."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In terms of materials, chicken wire mesh will be the most inexpensive option to use when building your fence. The downside is that it’s not the most attractive garden fence option. In a similar vein, you could choose a DIY fence made out of repurposed items, like car tires, or wooden pallets, either of which would be free to collect.

The cheapest farm fences are typically wire fences, which cost less to install than traditional lumber fences. Barbed wire is one of the most inexpensive options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets. It is suitable for confining docile animals in large spaces, as it provides a visual barrier and a mild deterrent. Other options like hog wire and woven wire fences are also cost-effective because they require less lumber than a full wooden fence. These types of wire fences are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair, though they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than wood.

Your wooden gate post hole should be a third to a half of the height of the post. Also, note that the diameter of the post hole should be three times the diameter of the post. You should set the post in concrete to ensure a long-lasting and durable post that will withstand the test of time.

Planting greenery on a fence can help achieve more privacy, whether it’s shrubs along a picket or chain link fence or rolls of faux greenery to help create a solid-colored backdrop beyond the fence line. You can also try adding more lattice or paneling across a fence so that there are fewer places where passing eyeballs can see in.

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.
