The technician, Bryan, gave us a courtesy call to let us know his arrival time, and when he got here, we were pleased to see that he was wearing a mask and observing CDC recommendations. Bryan proceeded to do a thorough check of our heat pump split system (air handler in the attic, and main unit outside). After he finished, he gave us a complete verbal description of everything he'd checked, and answered several questions in a very courteous and professional manner. He also followed up by sending a complete and detailed report to our email address. We were very pleased with the service rendered! This was our first experience with Horne HVAC, because our old service provider (Quality Comfort) had merged with Horne several months previously. Choice Home WarrantyMy outside A/C fan died on Thursday afternoon and I called for help. An A/C tech came Saturday and checked the system, obtained authorization in about ten minutes and then went about installing the new motor. Amazing service. After having the "we're here until midnight" company come out to look at what we needed done we called CMA to provide us a quote. CMA's quote was less than half of what the "here until midnight" company wanted and CMA's quote was for a significantly better system. Would we hire them again? Absolutely, without a doubt. And we recommend them to all of our friends. Mike has a team of workers with the kind of work ethic we wish all service providers had. Mike provides them an excellent example-hard working and honest. His office staff is incredible too. You will not be sorry hiring them.

SCAM! My home warranty company called them out for a heating problem check on our old system a few days ago. They first spent 5 minutes trying to talk me into buying a new system rather than repairing it saying the warranty company will just keep trying to repair it. Then after replacing a few minor parts and mixing up the wiring, then got it working for a few minutes and said another part needed to be ordered. 2 hours later I get a call from their customer service saying they miraculously changed the diagnosis and now a major repair was needed costing approximately $750 more and I questioned why the tech changed his diagnosis after the fact and had left. A supervisor called me after and said that repair might be needed but they would try the other part first. Later on that day the heat was not working because the tech actually had tripped and did not reset the circuit breaker. I called for another repair company that promptly came out the next day and fixed it no problem, and said the major repair was NOT needed. Comfort was clearly trying to make money not get the job done right.

I requested an estimate from three different providers via Angie's List. Upon receipt, I answered a phone call from this provider, reviewed the options, and agreed to move forward with the service. I specifically repeated, "is it $119 TOTAL, or for each of the two systems?", to which he replied, "119 TOTAL". I agreed, provided my credit card consent form, and proceeding. I got clearance from my realtor, and told him to be on the lookout for contact. Then, an hour later, the provider called me back and said, "never mind, the price is $159, and that is for EACH unit". I have declined the other two providers based on the above. Now, due to the bait and switch nature of this provider, I was just screwed. This provider should be required to honor the deal that I was offered, AND I ACCEPTED, and should have to eat the difference. This is only an inspection ... AND, was going to turn into an annual contract. So, full circle, you just lost a new customer, an annual contract, and I will bad-mouth this provider to EVERYONE who will listen -- all over $199 -- which was misquoted by YOUR representative. Shenanigans like this should not be allowed. I trust Angie's List to weed out this kind of crap, apparently, you are failing. You need to weed out providers who take advantage of customers -- like this one. Again, I cannot imagine why Angie's List supports a bait and switch scheme.

I finally signed up for an HVAC service agreement after years of assuming it was a waste of money. It took a few different friends and family members to talk me into seeing the value in this service and setting up an appointment. I compared Air Central of the Carolinas to one of the nationwide companies and ultimately chose this company due to having good reviews and being local. I am extremely satisfied with my decision and plan on renewing the service agreement as years progress. My interaction consisted of two appointments: 1. Initial service agreement inspection. At this appointment, the technician inspected and cleaned/touched up everything. He was very knowledgeable and explained the ins and outs of everything. Once again, further reinforcing the value of this service. During the appointment, I explained that we have been having an issue with the system and the tech identified a thermal valve that needed to be replaced. This led to setting up appointment #2 later in the week. 2. Replacing Thermal Valve - This appointment was made very quickly as soon as they procured the necessary parts. The technician arrived on time and replaced the valve in a timely manner. Our system is running much more effectively now. I'd like to point out that the pricing is very competitive with the other companies and every person I've spoken with has been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It goes a long way when you can tell that they want to make sure you understand everything as opposed to doing the work and leaving.
