"Highly recommend Palmetto Protection Films. This local business, in the Myrtle Beach, SC area, is the only place you should go to for your window tinting needs. Matthew, the owner & installer is responsive, professional, timely, and his attention is detail is excellent. He installed window protection film on 16 windows in my home and I could not be more pleased with the quality of work and the product."

"Very well-they were quick & for most part were able to do the majority of the work from the outside. They arrived very early & spent all day (ended roughly around 4?-didn't check the time) *there were close to 30 windows, one specialty window that a 2 man team installed. They asked that we move everything away from the windows to avoid any damages. Advised us to avoid putting items back for at least 24 hours to allow the seals to set properly. They arrived before I was fully awake-they want to get it done in 1 day! Would advise that you set your alarm early!"

"G I Kleaning Services did an excellent job deep cleaning the entire house prior to move-in. They cleaned everything --blinds, windows, carpets, cabinets, drawers, floors, showers, tubs, to a sparkling new condition. They even cleaned behind all the appliances. They did a great job for a great price as well. They worked with my schedule and were very punctual. Absolutely would recommend!!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

In High Point, window maintenance should address the region’s humid summers and frequent storms. Clean glass and tracks regularly to prevent mold and pollen buildup. Inspect weatherstripping and caulk each spring and fall, as local temperature swings can cause materials to crack. Lubricate window hardware to prevent sticking from humidity. Before hurricane season, check for secure seals and ensure drainage channels are clear to avoid water intrusion.

Helpful?

Signs in High Point that window repair or installation may need to be redone include persistent drafts, condensation between panes, or windows that stick after storms. Water stains on walls, rotting sills, or uneven window frames often point to improper sealing or settling. If you notice increased energy bills or recurring moisture issues, it’s wise to have a window professional assess the situation.

Helpful?

In High Point, a frequent mistake is selecting window types that don’t handle local humidity or sun exposure well, leading to premature wear. Skipping necessary permits or not using proper flashing leaves windows vulnerable to leaks during heavy rain. Overlooking drainage issues in clay soil or failing to verify contractor experience with older homes can result in poor window installation and long-term problems.

Helpful?

In High Point, homes with brick exteriors, original wood framing, or custom window shapes often require specialized window installation techniques. Settling from the area’s clay-rich soil can cause uneven window openings. Multi-story homes or those with unique layouts may need extra equipment for window replacement. If you notice sticking windows, sloped floors, or visible cracks, these could signal structural issues that complicate window repair projects.

Helpful?

In High Point, unexpected costs during window replacement or repair can include fees for required permits, especially in historic neighborhoods. Discovering water damage or rot behind old frames is common due to local humidity. Additional expenses may arise if electrical wiring or insulation needs updating. Integrating storm windows or disposing of old materials can also add to the project, particularly during peak window installation seasons.
