"Responded very quickly to my job. Original cleaner became ill the day of cleaning and they promptly found someone to fill in and take the job. The young lady who showed up to do the job was extremely nice and professional. Overall the young lady did a good job but I had to point out and ask her to readdress a few areas, at least twice, that I thought should have been obvious. Example, kitchen cabinets needed vacuumed out (they were empty) and cobwebs on crown moldings and ceiling (quite a bit) needed removed. Again, I would not hesitate to call this company again. Saved me a lot of time for the money! Good value."

Small jobs welcome

"Mars Cleaning is very friendly and understanding of our situation and what we needed. My mom lives with my husband and I and she needed her room & bathroom deep cleaned. We have had 4 other companies in here in the past 6 months and they did not clean at all, but Mars Cleaning did a superb job that passed my mom's inspection tion and have been invited back on a monthly basis. There prices are the est in the area also. In the future I will be asking them to come and help me with rest of the house on a different day. We are looking forward to a long relationship with them."

"Great Job! Made my carpet look like I'd never thought it would again. I was surprised at how clean my carpet was. Matt did an excellent job. I told some of my neighbors and he made time to remove some stains they had on their carpets. They were pleased as well. I will use this company again and will tell other friends, family, and neighbors about Steam-Source."

"Before you replace your roof, a soft wash may be all you need. We are extremely pleased with the results and have hired Sherlock for other outdoor cleaning projects. Ask what other services they provide. Prompt, friendly, thorough, reasonable. Excellent customer service."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, house cleaners or cleaning services do not need to be certified or licensed. Each state has its own requirements for licensing and certifications for companies, but most states don't require any special training to clean a home. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local guidelines for house cleaners and cleaning services.

If you’re hiring a house cleaner, you should have them clean the house bi-weekly. This is the most common frequency for people who hire house cleaners, but what’s best for you will depend on how big your house is, how many people live in it, and if you have any pets. If you can maintain tidiness and deal with any immediate spills or splashes on your own, then a professional clean bi-weekly or even monthly should do the trick.

If you’re unsatisfied with the cleaning, address your concerns directly and promptly with your housekeeper or the company. Many professionals offer satisfaction guarantees or will return to address missed areas at no extra charge. Document specific issues and clarify your expectations for future visits to ensure better results and avoid ongoing frustration.

On average, it takes between four and eight hours to deep clean a house. The exact time depends on factors like the size of the home, the number of rooms, and how dirty it is. A home that is frequently cleaned will take less time than one that is not. If you are short on time, you can break the job into smaller tasks or hire a professional house cleaner.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.
