"Very well-they were quick & for most part were able to do the majority of the work from the outside. They arrived very early & spent all day (ended roughly around 4?-didn't check the time) *there were close to 30 windows, one specialty window that a 2 man team installed. They asked that we move everything away from the windows to avoid any damages. Advised us to avoid putting items back for at least 24 hours to allow the seals to set properly. They arrived before I was fully awake-they want to get it done in 1 day! Would advise that you set your alarm early!"

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Jordan replaced three window screens for us. The windows had not had screens for as long as we have had this house. The screens are exactly what we expected and they fit perfectly. The job was completed in a timely manner and the cost was very reasonable. As a plus, Mr. Jordan is personable."

"It was so easy to schedule my deep house cleaning. The team arrived promptly and dusted areas that I haven’t been able to reach in years. A thorough deep cleaning from top to bottom, light fixtures, ceiling fans, wiped the walls and doors down, cleaned years of dust from my blinds and windows, scrubbed 2 bathrooms thoroughly and cleaned my living room, dining room and kitchen and I added on a bedroom at the last minute. This team of 3 came in and went straight to work. I am so very impressed with their work ethic and leadership. It would have taken me all week to do what they accomplished in 2.5 hours. I’m excited to see my home cleaner than it’s been in years. I will definitely be using GI Kleaning over and over again! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you GI Kleaning for coming to my rescue! I’ll see you again soon."

"I reported a window sealant problem beneath several windows, and my concern that I also may have a house foundation issue. I was given an inspection appointment. Daniel Messer conducted a thorough inspection, inside and outside, and determined that our foundation is solid, but we have a water leakage problem. This is causing rain water to enter beneath our windows, resulting in a significant window trim gap and separation from the window. Daniel was very polite and helpful, advising that we most likely need a carpenter specialist to alleviate our problem. My wife and I really appreciate his honest evaluation."

Windows questions, answered by experts

It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.

You will need about half of a caulking cartridge to caulk one window. The average home has eight to 10 windows, so you would need about 4 or 5 cartridges to caulk every window in an average-sized house. However, you may not need to caulk all the windows at once. If just one window has a pesky draft, you may only need half of a cartridge to fill in the gaps.

Yes, you can create a solution of dish soap and hot water to create a cleaning solution. You’ll want to mix about one to two drops of dish soap for every 8 ounces of hot water. If you use too much soap, it’ll create too many suds and make it harder to effectively wash away.

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Yes, triple-pane windows are more resistant to condensation. They help to reduce interior condensation that forms as a result of warmer temperatures inside your home than outside it. This makes them a good fit for cooler climates, particularly with newer, well-sealed homes that retain higher levels of moisture in the winter months.
