Scott was a pleasure to work with. He is very professional and knowledgeable. The teams he brought in to do the work were top notch. We love our new kitchen, sunroom and new covered deck. Overall, a great experience and we highly recommend Big Sky Homes Inc.

Excellent, your total home improvement is the right team at the right price offering expertise, experience and integrity. They don’t over charge clients - instead opting to keep them well informed, swallow unnecessary overages, and pushing to meet deadlines in uncertain conditions. Most importantly to their design team, they’ve proven they can follow the plan laid out by the homeowners and design team- insuring the output is what the client actually wanted. I’d offer them up to anyone looking to get a project completed in the triangle

  • Wayne Builders, LLC
    5.0
As a growing family, we were on the fence about moving to a larger house. Instead, Wayne delivered on our vision to make our home just as we wanted it. We looked at several contractors for our project, which included finishing a walk-up attic and building a screened in porch and deck, and found Wayne Builders to be competitive and extremely knowledgeable on code and building requirements. The projects were completed in a timely matter, especially while dealing with the complexities of COVID on supplies and labor. During the process, Wayne was consistent with his communication and often providing a schedule of what we would expect to be completed for the week ahead. We are very pleased with the results. Our attic was finished into a functional office space with gorgeous built in shelves. Additionally, our new screened in porch has transformed our house and backyard with a relaxing and comfortable space for our family to enjoy. Wayne paid attention to the details and executed. We hope to work with Wayne again on future projects

Dan Jarmen and Terry Beatty are co-owners. They are almost done on the garage and they are doing an excellent job. They are friendly, honest, and they stand behind their work. He calls us every day to keep us informed as to when they are coming. People are seeing the sign in our yard and they are telling us they are interested in hiring them as well. They are real good people and we would highly recommend them. We would hire them agai

    1. The contract to construct a sunroom, office, and a deck was signed on March 14, 2021. However, the permit was not issued until May 20, 2021, due to several resubmissions. 2. Phillip said that he was a contractor, but we found out through the local government that he was not. 3. He appears to have a cash flow problem as he would never order enough material to complete various phases of the job. There was not enough sheetrock, siding, paint, tiles, or hardwood flooring for the crew to finish a day’s job. 4. He hired cheap subs whose quality of work was terrible. The sheetrock guy in particular left the walls with cracks and dents. The flooring guy did not use a moisture barrier (flooring underlayment) on the installation of the hardwood and the tiles were left ungrutted for over a week, so some tile pieces were shifted and lifted. Also, the tile was installed without a placeholder for the register. The deck was constructed using inside nails, so they have all rusted already. While Phillip never physically did any of the work himself, he did not take the time to inspect the quality of work that was done. 5. He mentioned that he had several jobs going at the same time with the youthful rookie crew and would not show up for 2 weeks at a time and worked sometimes only 2 - 4 hours when they came. Some days he said he was coming and then never showed up or came days later. I must say that the youthful crew was very professional and tried to do their best with the resources that they had. 6. He left a slab of concrete cement and piles of construction debris in the yard. He failed to come and clean it up, even after he quit the job. 7. Be aware when you sign the contract, because he doesn’t follow the terms in the contract, particularly the clause that states: "If any intended changes or any other events beyond the parties' control require adjustments to the Agreement, the parties shall make a good faith to agree on all necessary particulars. Such agreement shall be put in writing, and signed by the parties, and added to this Agreement." Overall, we saw that the construction project was not going to be finished with the efficiency and quality that were promised in the original contract. All communications came to a stop, eight months later from the contract date on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, when Phillip did not respond back to us and did not show up on the job. We had to take ownership of this project in order to get it done. If you hire Philip, it may be fine for a simple job, but he is not a contractor. Please don't be fooled as we were

  • American Craftsmen of NC
    5.0
During the ice storm this winter and on at least two other occasions, we noticed a leak around one of our windows in our sunroom. We called American Craftsmen, along with a few others (including a company we had used in the past). They were the only ones who had their estimator come out to the house and get up on the roof to check things out and identify the problem. One company used satellite imagery to look at our roof and another was only recommending a service over the phone. Needless to say, we felt most comfortable with them. From the time we sent in the contract, it was less than 48 hours for them to come out and do the work. Within a week after the repair work, we had another hard, heavy rain with wind, that was similar to those that we had when we saw the leak. No leak! American Craftsman was prompt, reasonably priced, and they got the job done right

We hired B&D to remove an old deck and replace with a solarium. They had done our kitchen last year and did an excellent job so we hired them again. Excellent work, we use the solarium all the time! We will definitely hire them again when we need another home improvement project done.

Steve’s great coordination skills prevented a chaotic and stressful home remodeling project and instead resulted in a hassle-free, smooth running experience for us. He and Bobby did a great job in minimizing the disruption to our lives during construction and at the same time crafted a beautiful first floor design that we will enjoy for years to come. We highly recommend them to anyone considering any design and build project
