"We needed to add a door to close off a living space in the house. Brad came out and gave us some great options, did a fantastic job on the installation, and even came back out for an adjustment to make it perfect. If your project involves a door, this is the guy you want!"

"Allen didn't repair my sliding doors as I had originally intended, but he repaired many other items in my home and he was fast, friendly and I will hire him again when I need to. I recommend him to anyone that needs a great handyman!"

"Alem came out and fixed door rot on my front door frame. He came out the day after we made contact, expertly fixed my door and completed the job at a very fair price and with a smile on my face. Would definitely hire him again."

"I had a sliding glass door installed in October of 2015 to replace a window. From start to finish my experience was nothing but professional. Richard and Kim went over the top with incredibly warm and courteous customer service, always pleasing. The job could have potentially been very messy given that a bigger whole had to be cut into my dining room wall, but so much attention was given to constant clean up. The quality of work is A plus! From caulking every little seam to cleaning up every last bit of dust, the whole experience was very professional. I love my new door and would recommend these folks anytime! Richard and Kim are a great team to work with."

Doors questions, answered by experts

When choosing a door for the space between your garage and house, steel is your best bet for fire safety. While wood—and sometimes glass—doors are common, they have lower fire-ratings. Fire-rated steel doors can withstand flames for up to three hours—double what wood can manage (90 minutes). Glass, while non-combustible, can crack under extreme heat. Steel may cost more, but it also offers the best protection. Steel isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing choice, but as long as your door meets the International Residential Code (IRC) standards, it’ll do its job in protecting your family and home.

Inspecting your storm door regularly is important to catch any issues early and ensure its proper functionality. It's recommended to perform a thorough inspection at least once every season. This means you should check your storm door for any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction approximately four times per year—during spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Yes, pros can match styles and finishes to align seamlessly with your home.

Doors are made from a variety of materials, including fiberglass, wood, and steel. Fiberglass is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a durable, long-lasting, and energy-efficient option that comes in various colors, although it’s not eco-friendly. Steel provides durability and maximum security but is not eco-friendly or energy-efficient. Wood is an energy-efficient, eco-friendly door solution, but you’ll spend more.

You might be able to turn a normal door into a fire-rated door, but you’re better off purchasing one that meets all NFPA 80 standards. If you want to DIY a normal door into a fire door, you’ll need a self-adhesive intumescent seal, metal hinges, fire-resistant glazing, and a self-closing device, but you’re always better off buying a certified fire door.
