"Clee and his team of painters did an excellent job painting the interior of our home. The team was prompt, professional, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves each day. They moved all of the furniture and put it back, patched all of the nail holes, even fixed areas that were not part of the deal. More importantly, they treated us and our home with outstanding respect. Though it was a big job (over 3900+ sq ft) with an extraordinary amount of customized trim, the team was always positive, cheerful, and professional! Would highly recommend this company - in fact, we’re already setting up other jobs for them to do!!"

"We highly recommend Silva's Painting. They came on time, worked fast, and cleaned up perfectly. They even fixed a few things that needed repair. We had been looking for a painting company for about 6 months and couldn't even get companies to call us back. Mr. Silva came to the house and gave us an estimate quickly. We scheduled our job and could not be happier. The house looks great! If we could give him 10 stars instead of 5, we certainly would."

"I have owned my house 20 years and there are very few contractors that I would use again. I got 6 quotes before I decided on Cortes Painting. I have had my house painted 3 times with other painting companies and Jose & crew did the best job. They repaired a bunch of bad siding and fixed a sagging fence too! I am so pleased with the way my house looked after they finished. I plan to use them next spring to put a fresh coat of paint on my porch and deck too. A great experience all around! Thank you Jose!"

"Diego is professional & very nice. Will complete the job to meet your satisfaction. Stays with the job until completed. Honest. I recommended him & his crew to my brotherâ s home in Fayetteville & my sisterâ s home in Raleigh who were also very pleased with his work. Does great work. Painted my stained cabinets white. Also, exterior work with siding & wood & painting. Thank you Diego & Home Advisor."

"I regret trusting the positive reviews. I suppose it depends on what subcontractor is sent. Only 1 junior resource showed up on day 1 and started painting. Brush strokes locked into paint everywhere. Cut in wall paint over ran line at ceiling into ceiling. Paint dripped into light switches. Day 1 is supposed to be all prep, nail pops not addressed before painting started! Day 2 senior resource joined him. Missed many nail pops and rushing to address them after painting had already started meant uneven lumps and dimples over shoddy nail pop repair, and repainting over that meant difference in sheen. When replacing deck screens used poor technique with power drill/screwdriver and stripped all the screws. Paint hand and fingerprints over the screens. They worked really hard but in effect were 1.5 resources for a large job and were rushing and making mistakes. Very polite but end product subpar."

Small jobs welcome

"Jose did a great job painting our deck. He was careful to keep the paint from getting on the rails on our deck and the siding adjacent to the deck. We're pleased with the work he did and would hire him again."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's a good idea to sand the wall with fine-grit sandpaper after spackling, especially if you plan on painting. You can do this by hand or using a sander, but the idea is to ensure the spackle is flush with the wall. Sanding will give your wall a smooth, uniform finish and help your paint and wallpaper stay put.

The best exterior paint for the job of painting your front porch depends on the material you’ll be painting. Acrylic paint is often recommended for a wooden porch as it’s durable and easy to apply. If your porch is made of concrete, you’ll need to find a formula suited to that material.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Essential tools include brushes or rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper or power sanders, and appropriate cleaning supplies. Quality materials ensure long-lasting results.
