"We hired Bianco Painting to paint our master bedroom and bath. The walls were in need of some sanding and patching and the tray ceiling had original builder paint and nail pops. We were extremely pleased with the quality of work. It looks like a brand new room! The team was prompt, professional, and hard working. They had the job completed in 2 days and were happy to touch up anything we requested. Pricing was very reasonable and Alex was responsive and easy to communicate with. I will definitely recommend Bianco Painting to my friends and use their services again."

Since 2001, we have been the painting contractor of choice for the homeowners and business owners of this area. Our knowledge and experience allow us to handle virtually any type of painting project, whether it is interior, exterior, residential or commercial. We have developed a large following of loyal clients, and we hope to soon add you to our family.

"I wouldn’t use this company again, even to paint a dog house. We hired Socaz to paint our kitchen cabinets and a few rooms in our house, including all baseboards. We were told that it would take 1-1.5 weeks to complete the job. It ended up taking 5.5 weeks. First off, they advertise and say that they can paint cabinets, but in all honesty, they didn’t know what they were doing in our home. Our contract stated that they would use an oil based primer and high end paint (SW Emerald or BM Advance). Without consulting us first, they used a latex primer and cheap off brand paint (none of the painters there had ever heard of it. I just happened to notice it when looking at the paint cans that they left in our garage). Needless to say, the first time they painted them, the paint immediately chipped off with a finger scrape. After our kitchen was completely walled off for days, they had to regroup and figure out how to fix them. The had to contract the job out because the employees they had could not do the job. The contractor ended up sanding it all down again and repainting everything. This time they used oil based primer, but the same cheap paint. The island is already chipping again days later. Also, a day after they finished, we tried swapping out a knob and the paint completely came off. See pictures attached. We chose colors based on SW paints (we told them up front that this is all we use in our house) and with this cheap paint they used, the colors were off, not as dark as they would have been with the Emerald paint. They painted dog hair into part of our island as well. When we started this process, we hired their “color consultant” since my husband and I are not creative types. He suggested colors for the cabinets and I picked one. The cabinet color does not work with the rest of the room... granite, tile backsplash, wall paint. You would think that somebody that they call a color consultant would have seen this when suggesting paint colors. Complete waste of money. We are now thinking that instead of swapping out the granite and tile, we will need to do a complete kitchen remodel and replace the cabinets. This was not the plan before hiring Socaz. The baseboard paint they chose didn’t match the window trim, so they repainted it all with a different color and it still doesn’t match. We gave up and will live with that. I have been cleaning paint off of our hardwood floors, granite and door knobs almost daily due to the sloppiness. We are so angry that we chose this company and wasted all of this money. It is a huge lesson learned. They finished the project almost two weeks ago and the owner, Torrance has yet to call us to see if we are happy with the job or see if there are any touchups needing to be done (There are a ton, but we do not want them back in our house). He was not easy to work with. Once things went sideways, when we would call him, his tone would change when he heard who it was, almost like he was irritated with us. Many times he didn't even respond to our texts. He didn’t seem to have a handle on this project or even know what was going on in our house half the time. None of this was our fault (except for hiring them) and we didn’t appreciate him making us feel that way. We paid a lot of money and expected a professional job. It’s not what we got. I am not one to write negative reviews often, but I couldn’t not warn people about this company. It was the most horrible experience we have ever had with any contractor in 23 years of owning homes."

The Triangle's Plumber since 1991, Schwartz Plumbing Company, offers 24/7 emergency service, general plumbing, energy efficient water heaters, a full line of sewer, drain, and water line services. Our technicians are screened, skilled, informative, polite, and clean. Fully licensed, insured, and bonded. Locally owned and operated. Trucks clearly marked.

"Called Schwartz on a Sunday morning and Eddie came by about 90 mins later. He was excellent. He was very upfront that there is a standard $200 fee for Sunday work. He took a look at my unit and diagnosed the problem quickly. It just needed to be flushed so that the thermostat could work okay. Highly recommend."

"Very responsive to come out ainitially and access damage and get fixed as all was paid for by insurance. They also agreed to installing a skylight where the tree came thru (there was not a skylight before). It was installed well and has never leaked. That's all the good news I have folks. HOWEVER we had 'total replacement to original status' insurance coverage and first go around all they were going to do was patch damaged areas of roof. matching tiles "as best they can". After much bickering back and forth, they finally replaced entire roof. 3 times. yes, three times as the first 2 times work was substandard- and eaked. They did not overlap roof tiles and did not flash properly. When insurance overseer finally agreed to redo entire roof to "original" with a 30 year guarantee, she was subsequently fired by the insurance company after the job was done. Inside the house, the subcontractor they hired to fix our wall and ceiling was horrendous. "Johnny" from Mississippi put up a wall that was not linear -nit bowed. He said our house was crooked and he could not fix that. There was a good 2 feet crawl space between inside wall and outside house. We insisted he redo it (multiple times.) till he got it straight, finally, He said "the wife" was being too fussy. Then he replaced smooth ceiling with a popcorn ceiling because he said he couldn't fix the drywall plaster lines...now we have the task of taking off the popcorn, replacing the drywall ceiling, and replastering correctly. . We grew weary of him and decided not to have him redo. As for coming "on time", well, we learned that "on time" is a relative term...seems to mean just showing up sometime in the morning. Bottom line: Don't let your insurance company bully you into using this company and certainly do NOT hire them on your own."

Being a leader in the home remodeling industry for over 20 years, Genesis Construction will provide each client complete attention to detail and personal guidance throughout your entire project from the initial design to the finishing touches. MAKE YOUR DREAM A REALITY….

"We worked with Cass Gajewski and Dax Durazzo to develop a plan for our outdoor living space at the end of 2022. In March of 2024, we were contacted by Dax and our project started. After less than a month of work, and lots of money given, Dax has gone AWOL. The initial work was good, but we are left with a half-finished project, a backyard and back door that we cannot use, and with eaves/gutters removed we are at risk of water damage to foundation. He will not return calls or texts."

CORE Remodeling is a licensed General Contractor specializing in turnkey design-build residential remodeling. Our service offerings extend Being a small to mid sized remodeling business allows for all of our managers and carpenters.

"Like a mosquito in a nudist colony, I’m not sure where to begin. For those of you seeking a “quick and to-the-point” review, here it is: We are happy with the final product for our kitchen, bathrooms and fireplace remodeling. However, if the means toward achieving that end are of interest, read on. Getting to an acceptable conclusion of this project was disappointing if not painful experience. In short, our biggest error in judgement was to vacate our home for this 8 month long project (budgeted 3 months). By living elsewhere (about 1.5 hours away by car). By taking this approach, we effectively abdicated management of all subcontractors to CORE. This seemed reasonable as that is what their very high prices are represented to encompass. Not for us apparently. Garage doors left open with no one home (several times), mains power left off resulting in freezer/refrigerator leaking all over wood floors (twice!) and all contents being thrown away by the workers (even the dishes!), A/C vent covered by tiler (it’s easier that way), conditioned crawl space left open several times (our neighbor was our watchman and eventually started to visit daily), lights, A/C, etc. always left on, etc., etc. All of this was brought to the attention of CORE many times to no avail. Subcontractors, while well-meaning I’m sure, simply have to be managed or “policed” to be at their best. My wife’s favorite episode is the frequency that the plastic barriers were left open while workers sanded drywall. Indescribable mess. This was followed by a ~$600 cleaning bill and then more sanding of drywall obviating the value of the very high priced cleaning. Workmanship and attention to detail were disappointing and finally my wife took it upon herself to caulk and touch up painting on her own. Concurrently, and as a coincidence, we have also been in the midst of a very large building project on Lake Gaston. The project is orders of magnitude larger than the Cary remodeling job. What’s interesting is that the Gaston project has none, and I mean NONE of these issues. The contractor is on site each day. He expects and receives excellent service and craftsmanship from his subs. He actually MANAGES the project. The entire experience has been excellent with this project. Having said all this, I actually think that CORE will work well for you if you continue to reside in the house during the renovation. This way you become effectively co-managers of the work and you’ll not likely have any of the problems we experienced. You’ll be there to close doors, turn off lights, question sloppiness, remind them to remove shoes indoors, etc., etc. It’ll be fine I’m sure. My only real disappointment in this entire experience was that the owner took no responsibility/accountability for any of this when confronted about it. I never asked for any discount or token financial acknowledgement of poor service… I’m just much wiser now and want to share this with others."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Walls should be as smooth as possible before applying peel-and-stick wallpaper. Although you technically can apply wallpaper on textured walls, the peel-and-stick variety won’t last long without a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to. If you have textured walls, consult a pro about removing the textured finish before moving forward with wallpaper.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can hold up to environments with some level of moisture, such as bathrooms—especially peel-and-stick wallpapers made of vinyl or polyester. However, if you’re considering wallpapering a bathroom that sees a lot of moisture, like a kids’ bathroom or a full bathroom with a steamy shower and inadequate ventilation, even the highest quality wallpapers will peel.

The average cost of wallpaper installation is around $550 per project, or between $200 and $1,500, for most homeowners. Since projects and application areas vary wildly by size, it’s usually more helpful to have an estimate per square foot, which is between $1 and $7 per square foot, or an average of $4 per square foot. Project prices can fall above this range, though, especially if you purchase custom wallpaper or a luxury product. The best way to get an estimate for your project is to have a professional inspect your space and provide a quote.
