SOCAZ PAINTING

I wouldn’t use this company again, even to paint a dog house. We hired Socaz to paint our kitchen cabinets and a few rooms in our house, including all baseboards. We were told that it would take 1-1.5 weeks to complete the job. It ended up taking 5.5 weeks. First off, they advertise and say that they can paint cabinets, but in all honesty, they didn’t know what they were doing in our home. Our contract stated that they would use an oil based primer and high end paint (SW Emerald or BM Advance). Without consulting us first, they used a latex primer and cheap off brand paint (none of the painters there had ever heard of it. I just happened to notice it when looking at the paint cans that they left in our garage). Needless to say, the first time they painted them, the paint immediately chipped off with a finger scrape. After our kitchen was completely walled off for days, they had to regroup and figure out how to fix them. The had to contract the job out because the employees they had could not do the job. The contractor ended up sanding it all down again and repainting everything. This time they used oil based primer, but the same cheap paint. The island is already chipping again days later. Also, a day after they finished, we tried swapping out a knob and the paint completely came off. See pictures attached. We chose colors based on SW paints (we told them up front that this is all we use in our house) and with this cheap paint they used, the colors were off, not as dark as they would have been with the Emerald paint. They painted dog hair into part of our island as well. When we started this process, we hired their “color consultant” since my husband and I are not creative types. He suggested colors for the cabinets and I picked one. The cabinet color does not work with the rest of the room... granite, tile backsplash, wall paint. You would think that somebody that they call a color consultant would have seen this when suggesting paint colors. Complete waste of money. We are now thinking that instead of swapping out the granite and tile, we will need to do a complete kitchen remodel and replace the cabinets. This was not the plan before hiring Socaz. The baseboard paint they chose didn’t match the window trim, so they repainted it all with a different color and it still doesn’t match. We gave up and will live with that. I have been cleaning paint off of our hardwood floors, granite and door knobs almost daily due to the sloppiness. We are so angry that we chose this company and wasted all of this money. It is a huge lesson learned. They finished the project almost two weeks ago and the owner, Torrance has yet to call us to see if we are happy with the job or see if there are any touchups needing to be done (There are a ton, but we do not want them back in our house). He was not easy to work with. Once things went sideways, when we would call him, his tone would change when he heard who it was, almost like he was irritated with us. Many times he didn't even respond to our texts. He didn’t seem to have a handle on this project or even know what was going on in our house half the time. None of this was our fault (except for hiring them) and we didn’t appreciate him making us feel that way. We paid a lot of money and expected a professional job. It’s not what we got. I am not one to write negative reviews often, but I couldn’t not warn people about this company. It was the most horrible experience we have ever had with any contractor in 23 years of owning homes.

These guys are professional from quote to finish. They show up when promised, provide clear and detailed quotes, and do quality work. I have used them to paint several of our rental properties and the exterior of my own house. I would highly recommend them for any painting job.

The bulk of this job involved painting a large complex deck structure, two garage doors, and exterior moulding. The quote we got was reasonable and the entire process, from start to finish, was as professional as one would want to hope for. I will call on the company for my next project.

I am very pleased with the new ceilings and the paint job. Workers did a good job of sealing off rooms and covering everything in order to minimize the drywall dust as much as possible. Many friends have commented on how good the ceilings look. The paint job in the entire downstairs and on the stairwell is also very nice. Workers did a good job cleaning up after they finished their work. When I had questions, I was answered with patience and respect. The owner has great integrity; he wants the customer to be satisfied and the work to be done well, and he holds his worker’s accountable.

it went well. the gentleman was very sweet and helpful. He even insisted on fixing the paint and adding the door stoppers. really nice worker, but very very expensive.

Things went great. This is a very reliable and professional group. We’ve used them three times over the past 15 or so years.

Great results to finish up a new look for my 25 year old kitchen. Creative in solving problem related to the dry wall of a previous renovation that needed filling and finishing. Wall/ceiling painting and wallpaper completed up to very high standards. Wonderful advice about lighting and color before starting this project.

Came back with a factory finish. Great attention to detail with hardware removed and filled and hinges removed before painting. The cabinets look like new ones.3

Many spots were left undone. The painter wasted a lot of time on things that were unnecessary that did not allow for a complete job to be done. (the room was just dry wall, so why cut in around electrical outlets that are not done?) Lots of popcorn spots. Had to have another painter come and redo the room. Some spots on the ceiling were never touched. Would not recommend.

Painting the porch went well. They may do good entire painting. They do not seem to have the staff for an exterior job. Ended up hiring another company to finish job.

The crew was very professional. They kept me informed of the progress. A very neat paint job. They also replaced a lot of rotted wood siding. I am very pleased.

Very well. We originally wanted to paint the entire house but changed our mind. They were very accommodating and moved forward with painting all the trim and repairing damaged wood in several areas.

Best painting experience - ever! I received three quotes from Angie’s List of Certified Providers and though Socaz was not the lowest, they were also not the highest. I was impressed by their professionalism and detail in their quote. Torrance(the owner) arrived promptly on the first day to explain what would happen and the time line. I voiced my concern that the popcorn ceiling was old and stained but Torrence assured me his crew was very skilled in this kind of work. He was absolutely correct. All work was neat and flawless. Both the drywall crew and the paint crew cleaned up at the end of each day and the entire job was completed a day early. When I had a problem with my ceiling fan right after the work was completed, Torrance came out himself on a Saturday morning to check it out for me. I will certainly be hiring them again!

We had a great experience with Socaz. From the initial estimate through the 2-day job, we were very pleased with the team's responsiveness and professionalism. The quote was competitive, and the person who gave us the quote came to the job site each day the team was here to check in. They were very careful to protect furniture, floors, etc. They touched up a few areas that we weren't even expecting them to do. Highly recommend them, we would hire again.

Smooth from beginning to end. The color consultant helped me choose the perfect color. Work was timely and well done. Extremely responsive. I would definitely use Socaz again.

It went very well. Angel was very professional, kind and respectful. His painting skills are great. I'd hire him again. I guess I underestimated the amount of work to be done, so it actually took 3 days to complete.

I could not possibly be happier. The rooms look fresh and new. My timeline was tight, as the job could not start until a particular date, and my mom was coming to visit 4 days later! Torrance and Joel were fantastic and made it happen. Each day, I knew what time to expect the painter and he was on site right on time. They protected the hardwood floors and furniture well, and when they left they did not leave a thing behind, only three rooms that made me sigh with contentedness. This job was not cheap, but I didn't want cheap, I wanted well-done and on-time. I definitely got what I paid for - worth every penny.

We moved into a home that had a large unfinished ramp, deck and handrails. Even though it was December and REALLY cold, we thought it was best to protect the wood from the weather as much as possible. Torrance and his crew came out and worked diligently in the cold cold weather to complete the job. We also had a problem with the color on the deck not turning out the way we wanted it to look, and they adjusted our invoice and helped us resolve the problem.

I got several estimates and they were the best. The work done was beyond our expectations.

The staff was very nice, responsible,on time, and cleaned up after themselves.
