"Thank you Vince... I really enjoyed painting for you and Mary.. Ger"
"Please disregard this review. It is inappropriate, inaccurate, uncalled for, slanderous, and NOT an indication of the quality of my work, nor my integrity and professionalism I have worked hard to attain in the 29 years I have been in business. I have painted over 450 sets of kitchen cabinets by myself since 2008, and have never had anyone treat me like this... Gerry"
"Thanks (Members name removed)for the reference and it was fun working for you and getting to know you and (Members name removed)... take care, Gerry"
"Thank you for the referral (Members name removed)... It was great painting for you and (Members name removed)... Gerry"
"Thanks for the comments Pat... It was a pleasure working for you... Gerry"
Gerry is highly recommended, but call him well in advance of your project.
"Thanks for the reference [name removed]... yes, I appologize for the tardiness, that does happen now and then and sometimes my schedule doesn't allow me to be as prompt as I plan, depending on things that come up during the course of the week, and each day as well... And I tend to be an optimist, so if I say "be there at noon", I sometimes am being more "hopeful" than reasonable... And because I do all the work myself, some other aspects of the business that need to be done, along with the actual painting part of it, get in the way too... It was a pleasure working for you and [name removed]... Long live the "Kinks"! ;o)"
Gerry and I talked on the phone and within a few days he came over to give a written estimate which was basically what we had talked about on the phone. Within two minutes I knew I wanted to hire him.
We talked about scheduling and I was surprised about how booked up he is but I told him that we wanted to put our house on the market in May. Gerry is one of these guys that after you talk to him for about 30 seconds you know that he is totally trustworthy. I told him that we were going out of town for five days in a couple of weeks and that he could have free realm of the house. He fit me in. While we were gone he took off all the doors and took them to his shop to sand and spray paint and also put primer and then two coats of high quality Sherwin Williams paint ($65/gallon retail in the Sherwin Williams store) on the boxings and panels left in the house.
We came home to find everything left in pristine condition. The boxings and panels looked great. Gerry still had the doors and would come and install them the next week.
and quot;Next weekand quot; came today. Gerry came and spent a couple of hours putting up the doors and the new knobs. I ran errands while he did his thing. Again, he is totally trustworthy.
The doors were fantastic! What a smooth coat. Once they were put on the kitchen looked like new. Totally refreshed.
Gerry saved us thousands of dollars. Thousands! The cabinets look like they were just purchased and installed. There is no way refaced cabinets could look this good.
Great guy. Fantastic work. I'm in Durham. Gerry knows who I am and if you want to come by and take a look at his work and the finished product give him a call and let him contact me and you are welcome to come by (I'll try to sell you my house). I am that excited about what he has done for us.
"Thanks for the recommendation [member name removed]! It was a pleasure to work for you and to get to know you... And thanks for the smoked Rack of ribs when I finished up! Good luck selling the home! All the Best! Ger"
"Thanks [Member names removed]... it was a pleasure working for you guys, despite the snow storm almost stranding me there! :o) Your Kitchen really turned out great with your new countertops too! Thanks for the reference.... Ger"
The cabinet doors were removed and Gerry took him to his shop to paint them. The boxes and drawer fronts were painted in place but we did not have to remove our items from the cabinets or drawers. Gerry cleaned up everything thoroughly when
he was done. He removed the old hardware and replaced it with the new hardware we had purchased. He was always
prompt, professsional, and responsive. . We were having other remodeling done in our kitchen and Gerry was great about working with us about schedule.
I would highly recommend The Fine Line Painting Company to anyone who wants their kitchen cabinets painted.
Painting the cabinets was about $3400 but we have ALOT of cabinets and drawers. Refacing quotes varied quite a bit but
most were a little cheaper than painting. We chose having them painted because we liked everything about our existing cabinets except the color!
"Thanks for the referral [member name removed]! It was great working for you, and I am glad you chose to paint them... Most kitchens have cabinets that are beat up after about 15 years, or the stained wood finish is dark, or outdated... It is a great option to paint them over other alternatives... The nice thing is, if done right, they look brand new and hold up great over time... Thanks again! Gerry"
"Thanks [member name removed] for allowing me to paint while you were away on vacation... It allowed me to stay late several nights, as the job was a big one, and come and go, as I needed... It was a pleasure working for you... Gerry"
So I did a bunch of research and eventually decided to use Fine Line. Aside from being recommended by cabinet specialists, I picked fine line because cabinet paint is the ONLY thing they do. Expertise counts. I may have paid a bit more then some (though price are fair and straight forward) I got what I paid for. The kitchen looks great!
Thanks
"Thanks (Member name removed)... It was a joy to work for you and I am glad you are happy with the work... Gerry"
I had to be out of town for a week and gave Gerry a key and he did the work while I was gone. He originallhy said he would be done when I returned on Saturday, but still had to hang the caninet doors on Monday. I live in a one-story condo with two bedrooms and two baths and I was surprised to see the master bath toilet seat was up when I got home, so I knew he had used my bathroom instead of the guest bath. I am unhappy that he felt comfortable in my personal space and wonder if he went through anything else.
He needed a few hours to finish up on the Monday after I got back to town, so he got started and I left for an appointment.
Gerry used oil-based paint so there were fumes and I closed the door to my bedroom and bath to keep the odor out. When I returned, he had used my bathroom again (a new roll of toilet paper had been put on) even though the door to the guest bath was open and visable from the hall.
Because he was finished and gone when I noticed he had been in my bathroom again, I let it slide, but I feel like he invaded my personal space and I would not allow him in my home again unless I was there.
"I am dissappointed that [member name removed] did not talk to me about these issues she is expressing here... I truely appologize for any "seemingly" invasion of her privacy... I did not realize she had a guest bathroom, I simply found the nearest bathroom available, not realizing she was sensitive to that... If she had told me ahead of time, I would have certainly obliged by her requests, but nothing was mentioned... And I did explain in advance to [member name removed] leaving for vacation, that there would be a chance I would finish (hanging the doors) on that following Monday, and she didn't exhibit any apprehensions about that at all, and was very cooperative with my plans... I also did explain that the fumes are minimum, expecially if she was to be gone from the house during the actual painting. Upon her return, if any fumes were left they were just "residual" and minimal, as I did also explain to her ahead of time... I am dissappointed [member name removed] did not mention any of these issues to me when giving me the final payment, and that she felt necessary to post these on Angie's list before conferring with me about them... My Reputation is my most important priority... Gerry Hubbell (The Fine Line Painting Co., Inc.)"
"The [Member's name removed] were great customers and a joy to work for... Very pleasant experience for me, and I am glad they are so happy with the work. It makes my job very rewarding... Thanks! Gerry"
Our cabinets now look like new! They are beautiful and there is not a drop or a smudge anywhere. Gerry was the ultimate professional. I highly recommend his services for anyone who wants cabinets refreshed at much less cost than refacing.
"Thank you (member name removed) ... It was a pleasure working for you...."
"The (Member name removed) were a pleasure to work for and very friendly. Thanks! Gerry"
"I have painted several times for (deleted member name) and she was a joy to work for... Thanks for the referrence! Gerry"
"I am always available to come back to a completed project, for any reason, unforseen touch-ups, or "missed details". I am sure it wasn't crucial, as the member would have called me, and I would certainly have responded appropriately. Ironically, the final cleanup was done on a Friday evening at the same time my daughter was in a car accident, but it really didn't interfere with my normal clean up proceedure, although it may have appeared that way... the member and his wife were a pleasure to work for..."
