"Wanted to keep up with the new consumer trend of doorbell cameras. Got one for our front door and motion sensors for our main rooms inside. No extra fees or anything weird like that. Straightforward and honest process with this ADT dealer partner."

"Got tired of the buffering and low battery life with our Ring cameras. Have replaced them all with ADT cameras and the traditional ADT perimeter alarm system. So far – awesome! Should have done this much much sooner. Still figuring out all of the functions and capabilities with the ADT cameras but a massive upgrade."

"Jack and his team are incredible. There were issues with our alarm system and with our entertainment center that were head scratchers that I had tried to resolve but could not. I also needed to replace my universal remote. Jack was able to download the files I saved in my computer for my remote, convert the data into a useable format and load that into the new remote. All which saved me money. His team installed a smart tv on a bedroom wall and placed all the wiring in the wall and moved electrical behind the tv. All my issues were resolved and we are once again enjoying our home as it was intended. These are great professionals and better people!!"

"I recently decided to add video cameras to my existing home security system. My monitoring vendor provided me with an expensive and complicated solution to this request so I shopped around for other options. I ultimately selected 1st Security to install Alarm.com’s smart home security system for quite a few reasons. First off, the president of the company, Jeremy, came to my house the same day I requested information about their services and diligently followed up with me on a regular basis as I explored my options. Second, I was concerned migrating systems would be a hassle but it was completely seamless due to the knowledgeable technicians at 1st Security. And third, the cost was better than the competition. To top it off, the system is super easy to use, the migration was seamless and installation was top notch... very clean. The 1st Security technicians, Larry and Chris, were prompt, efficient, informative and professional. Great team!"

"The deal was for self-installed equipment, which I was not made aware of at the time of purchase. I would prefer to have a professional install this type of system, and it should be stated in the wording of the deal that the purchaser is expected to perform the installation."

"Josh Parrott was extremely knowledgeable about the system. He put my mind at ease, and that is why I chose his company to protect my home. The installation was fast and professional. I could not ask for better quality or service."

Ring Installers questions, answered by experts

Ensures safe electrical connections and proper venting, improving kitchen air quality.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

A higher CFM will make the price of your range hood more expensive. It can be challenging to speculate how much the CFM rating affects price, but ductless range hoods—that don’t need as high of a CFM as ducted range hoods—are less expensive than their alternative. On average, ductless hoods cost between $100 and $300, while ducted hoods can cost as much as $1,000.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.
