"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"I highly recommend Estrada Pro Moving! I don’t know what I would’ve done without them. They were friendly, quick, they carefully packed and moved my furniture in and out, and they left my previous and new home scratch and dent free. I couldn’t recommend them enough!"

Small jobs welcome

"I had David M and Frank M as my movers. They were on time, pleasant, worked quickly but with care. They wrapped all the furniture in pads and shrink wrap. I was in a 2 story home and had some big solid wood, heavy pieces....it was no problem for these two. I would hire them again, as it was one of the best moving experiences I've had....and I've moved over 12 times both locally and from West Coadt to East coast. They are well worth the $$."

"We had a lot to move and weren't sure about when our destination would be ready. Brian and Exclusive Moving & Delivery were more than willing to work with us and made things as simple as they could have been. The movers themselves were polite, considerate, and extremely hard workers who never complained when they had to move something twice because we changed our minds about its location. Indeed, quite the opposite saying "it's my job to put it where you want it, even if that means moving it again... you say where you want it and that's where I'll put it." We had a few scratches and dents, and still haven't found everything a week later (we know it's here just not sure where LOL) but to be honest and fair, that's to be expected with a move our size. I highly recommend Exclusive Moving & Delivery. Professional, on the ball and super efficient!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

The average cost to hire professional movers is approximately $1,700, but the total price can range from as low as $920 to over $12,000 depending on the move's complexity. For local moves, typically under 100 miles, costs generally fall between $920 and $2,530. Long-distance moves are more expensive, with prices ranging from $2,700 to $10,000 or more.

Several key factors influence the final cost:

  • Distance and Home Size: The mileage of the move and the size of your home.

  • Number of Movers: Hourly rates can range from $25 to $50 for one or two movers, increasing to $100 to $200 for a team of four or more.

  • Services: Additional services like packing, unpacking, and storage will add to the cost.

  • Specialty Items: Moving large or delicate items such as pianos, vehicles, or large aquariums incurs extra charges.

  • Timing and Access: The time of year, your specific moving date, and the ease of access to your home can affect rates.

Don’t forget to account for other potential costs like moving supplies and tipping your movers.

Most professional movers can provide a wide range of moving-related services, and you’ll need to pick and choose which ones you want to use. Examples of common services offered include the following:

  • Organizing and packing your belongings

  • Protecting delicate items with bubble wrap or other protective equipment

  • Moving your belongings and furniture out of your old home

  • Moving your belongings into your new home within a certain distance

  • Unpacking your belongings in the new location

  • Moving heavy items, like pianos

  • Moving your vehicles

  • Storage if your new home isn’t ready

The best equipment for moving large rocks from your yard depends on their size and weight. A heavy-duty wheelbarrow or a rock dolly can be effective for smaller boulders. A skid-steer loader or a mini-excavator with a grapple attachment provides the necessary power and control for larger, heavier rocks that you can’t lift manually. Professionals may use a larger excavator and ratchet hoist to remove larger boulders.

You can move a pool table without taking it apart only if you’re moving it a short distance, like from one room to another, and with the help of several people or a professional moving company. But if you’re moving the pool table from one home to another, experts strongly advise you not to move it without taking it apart. If you leave it in one piece, you could risk not only your own personal safety, but also risk damage to the pool table itself. The bumpers could need to be realigned and the slate may have to be re-leveled if you try to move a pool table without taking it apart. In this case, the risk usually doesn’t outweigh the reward.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.
