"Excellent. I had a last minute emergency (my dog rushed through the storm door, and tore it off the frame). Mind you, this happened on a Friday afternoon, and we were expecting company late on Saturday. I reached out to Hugo late on Friday, he responded, and was at my house on Saturday morning to attempt the repair. We thought that we would need to purchase a new storm door, but Hugo was able to shore up the install. get the door back square in the opening, and now it works like brand new!! He even filled the holes left from re-nailing the moulding back to the door frame. This is the second job he has done for us, and I recommend his company highly"

"Our home required rotten wood to be replaced in a number of areas that were exposed to water runoff from poorly installed gutters. Heath did an initial assessment of the work required but advised it could change once he got behind the rotten boards to see the extent of the damage. Of course there were more replacements needed and the price went up but in the end he and his team did a great job getting the work completed. Would definitely hire H&H again in the future."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. It’s okay to leave a pellet stove on overnight, and these stoves can provide 24 to 48 hours of warmth from one ignition. However, you should practice proper pellet stove maintenance, like cleaning the burn pot before each use, deep cleaning the unit at least once per year, and running the fan when the stove is lit.

You can install your own fire door, but since it’s a safety measure in your home (and often the only way to passively slow down a fire), you should rely on professional door installers. These contractors know exactly what to do and how to do it, and in our opinion, their costs are worth every penny.

No, you can’t completely fireproof a house. There is always a chance that a fire can break out inside or outside your home. Even if most of the home is built with fireproof materials, a long-burning fire can still cause damage. Still, fireproofing efforts can buy you additional time to evacuate and give you a better chance of salvaging your home after a fire rather than needing to rebuild entirely.

Short circuits can cause fires, electrical burns, and electrocution, which can lead to serious injury or even death. That’s why it’s important to take preventative measures to prevent short circuits, like getting annual electrical maintenance and an electrical inspection every two to five years, depending on the age of your home.

Concrete homes have better fire resistance because this material is highly resistant to fire and heat. But any paint, siding, windows, roofing, or other materials on a concrete home may still be flammable. Never try to stay in a building with a large, active fire or a wildfire approaching because this can still be deadly. However, building a fireproof home with concrete can better protect the structure against total destruction.
