"Just had my first service check up on my heating and air conditioning unit. As was the install the scheduling was easy. The technician called prior to arrival. I met him at the door and he explained everything that the service included. Then he went about his business. The report was concise and I am extremely pleased with his professionalism and manner. I highly recommend Maynor for your installation and service needs."

"Alpine provides quick service and checks out any problems.  We are completely satisfied with their service and the professional quality of their employees.   In January 2011 they installed a new Everrest split system 16 SEER 48,000 btu air conditioner and coil
matched with Everrest 95% two stage condensing furnace.  They removed and disposed of existing unit.  They put in a new condenser pad and reconnected low voltage and communicating thermostat.  They removed existing duct work and installed new R-8 valve, insulated flex duct for both supply and return, sized for larger unit, and insulated existing floor boots, bringing them up to code.  They installed  airtight collars with dampers.  In short they removed the old system and put in new heating and air conditioning units and installed new ducts throughout the house.  The cost was $9084.

"It was a very hot day and I was burning up in my house. I never wanted to get my air fix because I figure I could wait until the fall but it became to much to bear. I was on a call with my friend telling her about the heat and she told me to contact Jonathan McNeil. So I took her advice, I call him and because I told him that I could not bear the heat any longer he informed me that he will be over in the morning. He call me that morning to let me know he was on the way and call me once he was outside. It only took a few hours for him to fix the unit and he told me by next morning my house will be cooled. When I got up the next morning he was right my house was cooled."

"Our technician was Wes, and he was extremely competent, fair, professional, timely, and courteous. He did the work that needed to be done, but told us about things that were alright and didn't need to be addressed, which saved us money. He installed several additional outlets, moved a switch, and did general trouble shooting. Wes is a stand-up guy who is very good at what he does. I would use him again in a heartbeat!!! Additionally, I had some contact with the corporate office. The personnel I spoke with regarding scheduling were responsive and prompt."

"Michael & Son Services (M&SS) stands behind their work and puts their customers first. Over the past several years, we've hired M&SS to: completely replace one of our two split furnace/AC systems; replace the AC system of our other split furnace/AC system; replace our main circuit breaker panel and install a whole-house surge protector; replace a toilet flush system; and install surge protectors on each of our two furnaces and AC systems. All of this work was completed in an excellent manner from the designs, to the choices of components, to installation and timely completion. Along the way, also M&SS installed a bathroom ceiling fan for us, but the fan unit did not have the power level we had asked for and needed. We did not discover the discrepancy until we were recently remodeling the bathroom - more than a year after M&SS completed the fan project. The day after I contacted M&SS, a senior staff member was at our house to inspect the situation. He then ordered the specific more-powerful fan unit that I told him we wanted, and promptly after receiving it, M&SS installed the fan including rerouting the vent conduit for more effective operation. No charge, no questions asked, and M&SS made everything right, with a cheerful attitude all the way."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

If you hear your radiator clanking even when it’s turned off, it’s typically because there’s trapped water or air in the system, causing a pressure buildup. When you hear significant clanking, popping, crackling, or banging in a radiator that’s turned off, you’ll want to bleed the pipes or call in an HVAC specialist to deal with the problem (and prevent it from happening in the future).

If you have a closed-system boiler that requires an expansion tank, you cannot safely operate it without one, as this risks extensive damage or even explosions. You must find a way to make room for the installation. Options include repositioning the boiler, rerouting the boiler piping to a more open area, or performing minor remodeling to create the necessary space. If you are unsure whether your boiler needs an expansion tank or how to best accommodate one, it's recommended to have a local heating service professional assess the situation. They can confirm the requirement and suggest the most practical solution.

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.
