"Ralph and Carl just completed our renovation project that turned our 3rd floor unfinished attic into an office/media room. This was the 2nd house and 2nd attic that we used Carl and Ralph to finish out the attic for us. We previously used Triangle Classic Homes to finish out the attic in our other house about 5 years ago. We were very pleased both times, and recommend them to everyone."

"Josue Morales, Michael Gabriel, and Anthony McCleary Jr., came and encapsulated our crawl space. they were professional and hard working crew. They finished our job in two days. They explained the work and completed as expected. We are in Pinehurst area and the humidity level fluctuates high and low, this is a problem for our floors before we encapsulated the crawl space we had our floors damaged by high humidity. After re-flooring our entire house, we chose Tar Heel Basement Systems to protect our investment, the floors as well as the rest of our house. I give the Tar Heel Basement Systems 5 Stars. Their staff from our inspector (Mark Caddell), to the work crew were easy to work with and the work was completed as scheduled and they were available for our questions before and after the work was completed. "I have hired many contractors within the past years for all types of home projects. This group has exceeded any group that I have worked with. They were extremely concerned about doing the job to my specifications and checked in regularly to ensure that I was pleased with the work being done. They worked especially hard to match a difficult paint color and maintained very clean work areas. In addition, they were personable and considerate. They showed up on time, worked hard, and had the job completed within two weeks of my first contact. I will hire them again for all future jobs!"

"I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update as of 4/23/2024 they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I didn't and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

Concrete leveling is not typically covered by insurance. In some cases where the shifting concrete is caused by a natural disaster or storm, you may be able to file an insurance claim if your policy specifically covers those circumstances. In most cases, though, you’ll pay out-of-pocket for concrete leveling.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.
