"Josue Morales, Michael Gabriel, and Anthony McCleary Jr., came and encapsulated our crawl space. they were professional and hard working crew. They finished our job in two days. They explained the work and completed as expected. We are in Pinehurst area and the humidity level fluctuates high and low, this is a problem for our floors before we encapsulated the crawl space we had our floors damaged by high humidity. After re-flooring our entire house, we chose Tar Heel Basement Systems to protect our investment, the floors as well as the rest of our house. I give the Tar Heel Basement Systems 5 Stars. Their staff from our inspector (Mark Caddell), to the work crew were easy to work with and the work was completed as scheduled and they were available for our questions before and after the work was completed. "I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update as of 4/23/2024 they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I didn't and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!"

"They did exactly what I wanted in both aspects: the bathroom and the kitchen. I told them the kind of cabinets and the configuration and that’s why they built exactly what I wanted."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"Clean Hands did a great job for me. They were flexible with when the painting was done. More importantly the job was done well and the walls looked great. There was a sloped ceiling with some smoke markings that they took care of painting, now the room looks good again."

"We waited for several days to post this since it has rained so many days in a row. We wanted to see how the crawlspace was after so much rain.
We are very pleased that the house we recently bought no longer has a musty smell.
Andrew is very polite and does what he says he will do. He gave us a written scope of work to be done and he showed up when he said he would and did the job as agreed. He even went the extra mile for us.
His service will help us breathe better as well as protect our house from further damage.
We can say that Andrew is one of the great small business owners out there and highly recommend him.

"Randy and his crew are awesome.  Everything they've done is beautiful, from new vinyl and hardwood floors through drywall and tile work.  Plus the addition of dozens of 16' 4X8 beams to support the floors for the new addition (which is completely inside the existing structure below our 20' gambrel roof).
In addition to the excellent craftsmanship, we feel the cost was extraordinarily reasonable.  And understand from friends who've had renovations done that accomplishing all this - which actually added 1000 ft2 to our home - in four months was unbelievable.
Bottom line, when we're ready to renovate our kitchen and living/dining room and replace our decks (a few years down the road) RHC already has our business.
THANK YOU!

"My wife and I bought our home late last year from Housekick. They partnered with ProGreen to do all the interior work. The house paint is absolutely amazing! I told them to surprise us with a fun door, and they picked out the perfect green color to compliment the house. It was a great surprise! Interior paint is flawless and everything was left clean. The cabinetry work was incredible. They also re-did all the countertops and tiles. Owner, Cory, set up appointments for us at the best tile and countertop places in town and we were greeted by an attentive team member who gave us a tour and showed us all our options. They know Cory and the kind of work he does and we’re able to guide us and make recommendations. Their teams did a great, clean job on all the walls. The LVP flooring is absolutely amazing and we could not be happier. It's incredibly durable! We have a very active dog and his nails never leave a mark! During the move we slid a lot of furniture around and no marks! I painted a few accent walls and got paint on the floor. It came out with some soapy water. They redid our staircase and it’s absolutely spectacular! There are so many other things they did to complete the house, including building a full deck and fence. Overall could not be happier with our house and the job ProGreen did. Cory's customer service is only outshined by his attention to small details and how many times he's on the job site monitoring his team's efforts. Will never use anyone else!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.
