"Marcus is great. He's serviced my house several times for both AC and furnace maintenance. He's very knowledgeable and thorough. Takes time to explain things and answer questions. Also offers suggestions, but doesn't pressure you. He's very efficient. Appears to be an honest HVAC tech and good guy."

"Great. Brandon knew his stuff. He conducted and airflow test to show us where our leaks were. He provided suggestions on where we could best reduce leaks. He also looked over our structure (joists) and HVAC system, again, suggesting improvements. Well worth the investment!"

"Job well done.  Our Sub-Zero refrigerator was showing error messages and we called All American after reading reviews.  We called on the weekend before Christmas and had an appointment on Tuesday.  Jon - the tech - was great.  He quickly ascertained the problem and explained it - coils in the back were leaking.  Since parts had to be ordered, we had to wait the next week for the repair.  We were nervous about getting through the Holiday, but Jon said he thought we would be fine.  Thankfully, we made it through the Holiday and Jon returned to perform the repair.  He was on time and once again took the time to explain things as needed.  The process couldn't have gone smoother and we would recommend again.

"I highly recommend AAA home services. They installed a brand new HVAC system and the entire process was trouble free every step of the way. I have had them out to service the system twice a year and the scheduling to do so is easy and the service has been excellent. AAA home services has always communicated well and I have had them do exceptional plumbing work including the installation of a hot water heater. Thank you AAA home services."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, a dirty evaporator coil can freeze up. Dirty evaporator coils can’t absorb or transfer heat properly. The dirt and grime restrict airflow, which is needed to move heat throughout the system properly. Your air conditioning unit could freeze over, or it can cause your heat pump to freeze.

No, you should not run an air conditioner with a Freon leak. If you think your AC unit is leaking refrigerant, shut it off immediately. When you keep using a leaky air conditioner, it could damage the unit and release more refrigerant. After turning off the AC, have an HVAC pro come take a look at the unit.

Replacing an HVAC system does not always include new ductwork. The decision depends on the condition of your existing ducts. If they are in good shape, correctly sized for the new unit, and meet current standards, they can often be reused. However, if the ducts are damaged, poorly designed, or improperly sized, they will likely need to be replaced or upgraded to ensure the new system operates efficiently. An HVAC contractor will assess your ductwork and recommend the best course of action. Typically, ductwork is purchased separately, and a full replacement will add to the overall project cost.

No, for two very important reasons. First, it’s illegal to release refrigerant into the air or ground since it can be toxic and cause environmental damage. Technicians typically pump old or extra refrigerant into separate tanks for special disposal. Second, without professional equipment to read refrigerant pressure and levels, plus the AC’s suggested requirements, it’s impossible to know if you’ve removed the right amount of refrigerant. Stay away from a DIY solution here and seek an expert with the right tools.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.
